My Full Family - Note 4, Gear S & Gear Circle short review.

I'm really disliking the yellow cast on most of the Note 3 photos, especially the indoors. The white balance is off, and the colors are boosted. The Z3 had better white balance but I'm not sure if that photo is representative of what that phone could do, because recent reviews of the Z3v absolutely praised the camera on that phone. Maybe something is different about that model?

The N4 tends to take warm photos with pretty shallow dynamic range, and a tendency to overexpose images, while the Z3 is a has better dynamic range, but takes photos on the cool side of things. It's colors are, IMO, more accurate, though...

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs Sony Xperia Z3 Camera Comparison: The Best of the Best | For the Love of Tech

Daylight: I will take the Z3 any day.

Extreme Low Light (Park Pictures): I will take the Note 4 any day - OIS more advantageous there.

Dark but not Extreme Low Light (Dock Pictures): I give the edge to the Z3.

Flash Photography: The Note 4 curb stomps the Z3.

Since I don't take many low light images (not as dark as those park or docks photos, at least), I'm leaning more towards the Z3, because it has more intelligent software that just allows you to point and shoot without worrying about selecting the correct mode for the scene - it also has a really good manual mode, which Samsung Phones lack.

The only big issue, is Video. I need to see more video from the Z3 before I can consider it, because that is extremely important to me.

Does anyone know if the Slow Motion on the Note 4 is Upscaled video or true 720p (OEMs need to stop calling it 720p when it's really 480 or 360p video upscaled in resolution). That's one of the main things that really forcing me to continue considering an iPhone at this point. No Android phones currently can even touch it for recording high FPS HD video...

EDIT: I just actually read the article and the writer basically says what I said about the back camera...

I not sure who write that article. That the first time I seen some output issue and his comment just hilarious. What Note 4 photo is zoom by default. Z3 having more wide viewing angle doesn't means Note 4 is zoom. HTC One M8 is having even more wider viewing angle than Z3, is that means Z3 also zoom by default? Real nonsense.

I had post in multiple forum and none said Z3 is better. Sony all the time had extreme bad photo process algorithm and never look good but in fact pretty bad. One such article tell nothing include your comment.

Blind test tell everything as user vote on without knowing the photo is taken by which mobile phone camera.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sams...comparison-iPhone-6-is-distant-second_id61676

The result showing most vote the best camera is actually Note 4. Your beloved LG G3 getting the most less vote and Sony Xperia Z3 getting the second less.

The photos speak for themselves. The article's author basically seen the same issues I see, so I don't see why you find that hard to wrap your head around.

And all the other pictures I've seen display similar issues.

I could look at the photos in that blind comparison and pick the Note 4 and S5, and iPhone 6 out every time because all those phones spit out images with certain obvious (to me) characteristics.

The Note 3 beat the Z3 in that test which just shows you how legit it is. The Note 3's camera is years behind the Z3's in output quality.

People were looking at photo resolution to choose their preferred devices.

Note 3 camera is better than Z2, don't see any reason why it can't win Z3 as Sony did crap in photo output.

This is blind test you also can argue. No need respond your nonsense long story. You can continue your best is LG G3 and Sony Xperia Z3. This only show you bias on your liking device or never know what is a supposed good photo output.

The blind test never show the photo real resolution. Stop your nonsense. Thanks. :) if you so hate and cannot accept Samsung did better this time. Why you at here and butt hurt?

The Note 3 camera is not better than the Z2. Have you ever tried to take a low light photo with that thing? The Z3v uses the same camera setup as the Z2 and it's 500pct better than the N3.

Have you ever used the Note 3 camera? It is only decent in daylight when it isn't blurring, and for video. Low light and darkness it's close to useless. I carry an M8 for those shots.

It's the only pictures the M8 is best for, since getting an actual usable picture without having to be a statue trumps trying to get a miraculous usable but more detailed (and noisey) photo with the Note 3.

I'm a fervent Note 3 defender here, you one cannot defend the camera outside of fairly good to average lighting conditions, and the image processing is bad.

The Note 3 camera is actually WORSE than the Galaxy S4, which still isn't on oar with the Z2.

Note 3 only not that good at night but not as you said crap.

My Note 3 review here - http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...e-3-n9005-s-view-cover-gear-short-review.html

M8 at night is over bright, it can't handle light bleed in proper. Even day light also over exposed, need manual mode to control it. M8 camera is great but only in manual mode only -

All camera you mention, Note 4 doing it better 1000x. Samsung always did great in image processing, in details , sharp, not over noise but not wax look.

The worst image processing for mobile camera is Sony, it is crap since Xperia Z until recent Z3. Sony processing is waxing look, obvious over noise reduction but end up still crap noise. Details all gone. Pretty bad and now even night shoot also loose, the light bleeding control is no way can win recent phone in market like Note 4 and iPhone 6 plus.

Those who question Xperia Z3 low light image quality. Please check this photo

I edited the same photo in Lightroom just to sharpen it a bit.

Don't play edit. Why you need sharpen it. Every photo look awesome after sharpen it. Beside this, plenty can be change under Lightroom.

Also if take under manual mode, that is not count.

All photo taken by me is auto mode with 100% untouched, and the auto mode is normal consumer will use. I know Sony can get decent output in manual mode but the most common auto mode suck!

That is also the reason why Z3 getting the lowest score.

Camera comparison: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Sony Xperia Z3, LG G3, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3 - Conclusion

Because that's what people do. They sync to their PC and make the shots better in Lightroom or Photoshop. Everyone doesn't take pictures exclusively to destroy them in Instagram or Facebook.

Tweaking for better quality is normal. DSLR users do the same. Why do you think?

PhoneArena is not a Camera review site. Find a better source.

You are nonsense to maximum. Go check around and calculate how many percentage people do that.

If your camera is great enough, skill is good enough, edit is not necessary.

DSLR is different case, if snap at RAW, PC process is a must.

I am not go going to reply you anymore. No point reply to nonsense people like you.

Edit is always going to make a better photo because in camera processing is almost never as good as what apps like lightroom, aftershot, photodirector, and others can do.

DSLRs cam do JPEGs as well.

Just cause you think the phone is flawless for camera doesn't mean it's output is optimal.

I almost always tweak my JPEGs out of my phone. Any phone I use.

I do more with my pictures. I'm not printing a photo with the Note 4 default bad white balance and saturation, for example.

My last reply to you. I play DSLR also. I know what DSLR can do. I know it can out jpg.

The problem is you just misleading the purpose of phone camera which the main usage is instant.

If you think Note 4 camera is real bad. Go ahead, nobody care. You no need unstoppable your thought long story.

Nope. Lots of people replaced their point and shoots with smartphones and they adjust their photos for printing. DSLRs are not "mainstream" in the consumer market and even they JPEGs they output are often adjusted by their users. I don't see your point or your issue with what I wrote.

Phones are notorious for noise and bad exposure or white balance. If you want better quality then adjusting them in LR or similar software is pretty much compulsory.

If you're throwing them on Facebook then why bother caring about how good the camera is? The picture will end up looking like it was taken on an iPhone 3GS anyways, Lol

You can get better Facebook quality if you resize the photos yourself which results in less degradation after uploading, but at that point you're better off at least Auto-Fixing the image since that's probably going to be in the same app, anyways.

I would never throw photos straight out of the Phone on Flickr, for example. Lots of great smartphone photos there, but very few of those weren't retouched 😉

Photos have EXIF data that Facebook and other networks can use to tell others when and where the photo was taken. Taking a photo on a whim doesn't mean you absolutely must upload it at that moment.

All the data necessary to keep that moment in perspective exists and can be used to achieve just that.
