The Official Accessory Thread

There is a long accessory thread at the top of this forum that discusses several of the Spigen cases and many other options. :)

Hook, read that thread before I posted.. it didnt answer my questions really. Specifically, it didnt mention external dimensions at all, no results from drop tests at all that I saw.

TS, appreciate the input, but I'm not sure its an apples to apples comparison (this is the first phone I've decided I wanted a cover for) so I'm not sure how much help that is.

To answer about bulk, it adds some but not enough to detract from the phone. As for height it dropped from the top of my motorcycle onto the asphalt.

I love the case, I previously bought the spigen neo hybrid, but I felt it was too thin so I got the slim armor. It definitely feels like more protection, mostly because of the hard plastic shell on the back.

The corners of the case are very thick rather hard TPU rubber.

I dropped my phone on it's screen and the case saved it because it has that lip on the front, it's not small and not big enough, just right I would think..

If you want to see the case visually, how thick it looks and so forth just pop open a youtube video.. :)

Like a lot of others, I like the Spigen cases, and use the Slim Armor Case (Black) for my day to day.

I also got this i-Blason case to use when I'm traveling and want a little more armor, and the kickstand for if I'm on a plane and want to watch something on my phone (not usually the case if I also have a tablet but it's still a decent sized screen).

For screen protectors, I went with the Halo anti-glare matte, and a 3 pack because I don't always get it on right the first try.

For car chargers, I went with Anker, which has a built-in micro USB, and an extra USB port. The one I got was black, but for some reason Amazon isn't selling that color anymore, so you can pay $9.99 for a white one or an exhorbitantly high price for a black one from a 3rd party.

For a car mount, I went with the Mountek nGroove CD Slot mount. I don't use the CD player anyway, since I now have a car with bluetooth so I can just play music from my phone.

ok folks, there are a lot of you on here that have the slim armor.. WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS of the case?

I see a ton of chatter, I've yet to see a HxWxD on it anywhere. I think I found them, but they look more like shipping dimensions, 1" thick would be absolutely massive for a phone case so I doubt that number is actually it.

Give me a minute to find my ruler and I will measure it for you.

oh, and has the case interfered with inductive charging?

EDIT - got my slim armor in blk today along with a techmatte inductive charger. The power button is a little harder to push than I care for.. and now feels squishy.. but other than that things are perfect. Looks like I could almost charge the phone with a dvd case under it based on when the led turns green from red...

I had the neohybrid for 5 months and loved the design, feel, and the responsiveness of the buttons. Unfortunately I have dropped my phone 3 times from around knee level and the case finally broke around the top right corner. There was no damage to the phone, but the case is done.

I just replaced it with the new white Slim Armour View. Spigen Nexus 5 Case Slim Armor View | Spigen

Yesterday was the first day I used it, so i'm not to sure if I like it or not. The thing I am not to fond of is the cover is hard to open. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to it. At least the cover is removable in the event you don't like it.

The only issue that I have with the slimarmor case is the lack of definition on the buttons: it's hard to tell if you've pushed them in or not. I know that they put out a new inner sleeve to help people who were having the issue with the buttons always being pushed in by the case. I confirmed with them that i have the new sleeve, but it's still hard to feel exactly where the push is on the buttons. That's part of the reason i ordered the other case I was asking about above. Well that and I just kind of wanted a slimmer case.

Has anyone used and had success with the intelliArmor itelliGlass for the N5 screen protector? Purchased one from Amazon, install went perfect with the exception of the corners not adhering. Before I try again I wanted to know if anyone is using this product and did you do anything outside of the instructions provided and has success?

Side Note: intelliArmor was awesome, had a new screen protector in the mail within 15mins of the first failed attempt. Very impressed with their customer service.

After a few days of use with the Spigen Ultra Hybrid I gotta say, I really like it.

Personally, I think it's cool that the nexus branding across the back now shows through. The buttons are much easier to hit (giant targets with separation so you can see and feel where they are) and I actually can feel some feedback on if I hit them or not.

The phone appears to be as well protected as the slim armor that I used for a long time, including little feet to keep the clear plastic above surfaces (so it hopefully will scratch less.) The only thing I've noticed that might bug people is that the headphone jack hole isn't as tightly sealed as the others, and I'm starting to see specs appearing that got through the hole and are now on the clear plastic. I've been using the case for about 5 days, so I guess time will tell if I feel the need to clean it out more often because of this.
