Show off your 360 with different bands and faces

Thank you.
I've not been paying much attention on this so I'm way behind.

Has there been official reports on the second generation? Have moto /lenovo scrapped plans to release the all metal watch for 300.00?

I love my nixie watch, however now that I full steam on the nexus line of toys, I'm mildly considering jumping on the wear bandwagon...

No reports on the 2nd gen, that I've seen, but there are a few things that I hope to see improvements on in the future.

One of the things is the ambient sensor. I'm finding it to be irrelevant and have the ambient screen mode off. While it's cool to have the auto-brightness, I don't think it's really necessary. I'd take a complete circle image over the ambient sensor for sure. Unless they find a different way to implement, I'm hoping their 2nd generation of the 360 allows for a true circle watch face.

And no, they haven't scrapped the $300 for the watch with the metal band incorporated. Before the listings were pulled, the champagne version showed $299 pricing on Amazon. I haven't gone back to check if they put them back up, but that's what I saw on that one before it was pulled. I added to my wishlist, so I could check it out this morning and it indicated that the product wasn't available anymore.

I really don't get the uproar about the black bar at the bottom, I barely notice it. But then I prefer a black watch face.

I really don't mind it, but the only reason they have it is for the ambient sensor, which really doesn't serve much purpose since it just drains the battery faster. As far as I know, aside from auto brightness, the ambient screen (which just dims the display to keep the watch face on low light) is the only other purpose of having it. So, if I am picking between seeing a completely round watchface with better battery life vs. a cutoff for a physical sensor that has detriment to battery life and doesn't really serve any functional advantage, I pick the former.

I ended up ordering the black metal band on Amazon when it was posted. I have not heard anything about shipping yet.

I also have no problems with the black bar at the bottom. I tried a white watchface but it was too bright when it randomly lit up. I use a black watch face and it practically disappears. The ability of having auto brightness is great but I do wish that it did not blink super bright for a second before it dims down.

I also wish that the button on the Moto 360 locked the screen in ambient mode and the screen would never turn off but I understand the battery concern there. I would use ambient mode almost all the time and only need to it become lighter when there is a notification.

I am just sticking with the Stock watch faces until the new Android Wear comes out with the proper channels for customized watch faces. But in the meantime I really wish that Motorola added the date to more of their watch faces. Even if it was just an option in the Motorola Connect app. Seems silly that only one watch face is able to tell the date and time.

Just to make sure you are aware (you probably are), you can always find the date by pulling down on the watch face - it shows up with the battery percentage.

I have an extra black band (similar to my current silver one that I'm rocking) that I'm willing to sell, for anybody that's interested. It's 22mm, but a very tight fit. If you bring to a jeweler, I'd imagine they'd be able to install without the modifications that I had to do on mine (which were somewhat minor anyway). End links fit perfectly in the Moto 360 slot though, so thickness isn't an issue.

Honestly I had not looked at it that way. I have checked the battery percentage in that manner but for the date most cases I am just glancing down at the watch face and not swiping the watch face. So I have just been using the classic face with the white switched to black.

Hi Skrill,

Is that the one by Androidslide? There's a couple on the market under that name.

Yup, it's by Androidslide. Make sure you try out the JARVIS 2.0 face someone made, it's seriously a work of art.

Here is the link to the app:

Thanks for posting. I had used Beautiful watches before facer, but didn't find it as customizable. I might just give it a try again, now that I see where customizing is just as good.

I literally get an extra 5-6 hours of battery with WatchMaker over Facer *AND* it supports up to 50 frames per second. It uses a LUA scripting language which the Moto 360 seems to handle very smoothly unlike Facer. Love it!

Just made the switch Skrillex. Thanks for mentioning. Initially, they didn't have the customization options that they have now... at least, not that were apparent to me.

What is awesome is, importing
watch faces made using facer is super easy. I will keep an eye on my battery life. The continuous second hand is pretty awesome (Shoutout to Outatime for pointing that out). So far, I haven't seen a drastic change in battery life, but I will know for sure tomorrow. I managed to squeeze out 2 days of use, on one charge, when turning the watch off at night. An extra 5 hours would make it safely, if it translates the same for me.

Only thing that sucks is having shelled out the 2.99 for Facer. Premium version of Beautiful Watches is only .99

Just saw this on Kickstarter. It's a little costly for an accessory, but look what it does! You can use ANY 22mm wristband!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1183644800/steelconnect-m-adapters-for-moto360-smartwatch?ref=nav_search

I'm in for the M-225 in black for my black 360. It just looks like it would be more functional (and comfortable) than the M-180.

Take a look!

:)

Yeah, a little pricey for basically an adapter, but good find! And it'll make it much easier swapping out bands.
