Root How to Hide Tethering from Metropcs

Upvote 0
I'm using IE and I downloaded the UA switcher from Bayden. I swtiched the user agent to Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2.1; en-us; SCH-R910 Build/FROYO), and it worked fine it atlanta for thanksgiving. But as soon as I came back to Miami, it stopped. Anyone have any ideas?

thx

I live in central Fl. and noticed that Metro has messed with the tethering again too so I followed the instruction to change user agent but for me it did not work on IE of Chrome but it did work on Mozzilla Fox with the UA Switcher add on. Maybe this will fix your problem.

you guys can also try out your phone's user string instead of the old samsung indulge string.

Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.4; en-us; LG-MS910 Build/GINGERBREAD)

Wow i tried this user agent string and it didnt work either. this sux, metro must be onto us lol. Thanks tho. I think i'll try downloading mozilla firefox with the user agent switcher, and try that.

Has anyone tried changing the device to Optimus s or m? it works for me

Though I'm tethering to a tablet. Haven't tried lately
tablet wont be the same as its still a android. ;)

all other methods to 'hide' will eventually be discovered & 86'd too... unless of course you are paying for tethering. ;)

Curster, I downloaded firefox and the installed the user agent add on, but its not working. What user agent string did u use? I used Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2.1; en-us; SCH-R910 Build/FROYO). Is this right?

I also tried the user agent string that N4zty suggested, but that didn't work either. = ( im thinking about giving up.
