I have a s4 mini and was just wondering when the latest update is going to be roughly? I thought i read a couple of months ago it would be April or May but it hasn't updated yet.

Also why is the Tab3 not as easy to move things to a external sd card as the s4 mini? I cant seem to move anything over at all

The KK has been released from Samsung to the service providers. They in turn are, if they are going to provide it at all, preparing to release it to customers. Rogers, for example, has for some weeks now on their website that it is "coming soon" for the S4 mini along with several other models. No rumors have escaped. Some expect sometime in June.

My wife showed the me last night that her phone was trying to update (Verizon). I didn't get a good look at the screen, but I did see that it was an update to 4.4.2). I suggested she put it off again (she said she'd already delayed it twice that day) until we can back up her data to a computer. I'm sure that it's not supposed to do any harm to data, but I'd prefer to do the backup first. So I guess sometime this evening after work she'll be on the update.

I've had my black GT-i9195 LTE for a couple of months now, but still not been offered KitKat yet. Just found an old CNET interview with someone from Samsung who said the SIM-free version would be the last to get upgrades since they needed to get all of the networks to confirm they were happy first.

The logic is that a SIM-free mobile could be connected to any network, so they needed all the networks to test it first. He also apologised for Samsung not being very good at communicating this kind of thing. So it's just another company selling communication devices which can't communicate itself!

I've got Cyanogenmod's KK running on a couple of old Huawei G300 phones, and it's pretty good. Only problem is the emoji - they're not readable on most other mobiles unless they've been updated to include emoji, so everyone else gets rubbish.

Patience is a virtue, and it's sometimes good to wait for everyone else to get a faulty update first - then you know to dodge it. ;)

It's here! 4.4.2
I finally have the update for my unlocked S4 mini in the UK.
however, I could not install it as I didn't have enough free memory. I had to reset it then update it, but now it finally runs 4.4.2
I can now use app folders to avoid so many home screens, just like on my tablet that got 4.4.2 9 months ago!

Here in Australia. My wife and I both have S4's. Hers just got updated to 4.4.2, Mine is still on 4.2.2.

On Monday just gone, my tab updated to the 4.4.2.

My phone hasn't yet.

Sad :(

2 weeks ago I got my partner the s4 mini (uk unlocked) and was very disappointed it didn't come with the latest software. still running 4.2.2 yet others in uk with unlocked phone have received it, what is going on? on the Samsung rollout page it says the phone should have received it in June, kitkat is almost 1 year old and lollipop comes out soon, terrible service from Samsung but my fault in presuming it would have the latest software/firmware
