Slow video playback

Have had my turbo for about a week and no matter the source video playback is extremely slow. This is my 10th android and this thing is nearly as slow as my Eris. Videos that play instantly on my Maxx buffer and sometimes don't even play.

Also are we ever going to get voice and data capability?

I don't know the answer to your video problem, but, yes, the phone is definitely getting VoLTE support for simultaneous voice and data. There is no promised date yet, but we know it is coming.

As for the video problem, it might help to list the video sources. Are these online video sources, like Netflix or Hulu? Are you having the problem over WiFi, mobile data, or both? Or is it locally copied videos? If so, which format? Which resolution?

If you go into settings / battery usage and tap the graph on the display, there is a bar graph showing awake time. Do you see a lot of awake time? I'm wondering if you have something running in the background that's stealing cycles. My other idea is that the streams just can't supply the resolution they are trying to, as the phone is extremely high def, but Netflix I know is supposed to monitor this and adjust the resolution down.

I know in the YouTube app you can tap the menu icon top right to show a gear icon to bring up a menu to adjust quality. What is the resolution? Is the playback better if you choose something lower?

So I decided to just do a factory reset and now I'm not having the problem anymore. After rooting and roming every phone ever I never saw anything like that. Everything quick as can be now, thanks for all the suggestions. Now if they would only let us use all the screen can do on the YouTube app and not limit our resolution.
