Lollipop 5.0 [Its out! 11/12]

Hello,

If I manually install Lollipop on my Nexus 5, will I receive future OTA updates or will I also have to manually install them too?

Thanks

If you install the official stock builds, either by ota or factory image, you can still get official updates from Google. It's only when installing a custom rom that you lose this ability.

or if the user makes system changes using root ability :)

The OTA will still try to install though if it's a stock build, it will just fail until the changes are removed.

Once I can figure out why ADB isn't recognizing my phone I will try flashing the OTA

Possibly a driver issue?

So, dumb question, but how does phone encryption work? I'm mostly curious with respect to mounting the phone to move stuff (mp3s, keepass db) to the phone. Is that still possible with the phone encrypted (maybe unlock the screen to allow the mount to work?). How much slower is the phone with encryption on?

I was reading the encryption thread on reddit, it appears the snapdragon has instructions to assist encryption speed, but qualcom has not made them available to AOSP. It seems everyday performance is still good tho.

Hey guys, I'm not really sure where to post this question, but it has to do with Android L update on Nexus 5 so here it goes.

I just got my update notice for L, I was extremely ecstatic. So I immediately downloaded it OTA and hit the "reboot to finish installing" prompt when it appeared. Except when it rebooted, the following screen came up. I have no idea what this is, but I don't know how I can add a picture on here to show you guys. Anyone able to help?
