I can answer that question, bg. That would be a big YES. My hats off to Team Codefire for their outstanding work. First Stump and now Bump. The benefits are; for one, no more need for the zv5 aboot. Since the loki exploit is no longer needed. Any aboot version will work with a Bump'd kernel. So if you have the zv5 aboot installed on zv7 or 8 or you're still on zv5 firmware...no biggie. A bump'd boot or recovery kernel will still boot.
This means we can now use a flash utility (ie. Flashify, Rom Manager, etc.) right from the phone to install boot/recovery images. No PC required! Less chance of soft-brick situations due to an aboot issue is another reason. Although the 'hands on' benefits really only concern developers. It's still a great day for the whole f3 community. Loki had it's day and I truly appreciate djrbliss for his time and skills. But it's time to move on to bigger and better things. Btw, thanks for the awesome find, blondgod!
