I've installed conquest singularity and then updated the kernel to the touchwiz KitKat 4.4 version found here:[KERNEL][TMO][AOSP/TW][4.1/4.2/4.3/4.4][07/1… | T-Mobile, Wind, Mobilicity, Videotron Samsung Galaxy S III | XDA Forums rotation and everything else works fine. I don't know if the rotation issue was solved before, in that case I'm sorry guys for wasting your time!

GOOD INFO!!!

Glad we are seeing progress with this phone.

So keep us posted if things continue to work well. I assume wifi tether is working too?

Oh my god! You fixed the only issue my phone had! Improper rotation! You fixed it! I will add this to the OP first thing in the morning. Thank you so much!

With the kernel he linked, everything works. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi tether, camera, all of if. And best of all, proper rotation!

I merged all the threads with the (T) model to keep them together so they don't mess up anyone using the non-(T) model.

Try to post in this thread only, everyone will see it when they log on.
I asked if they can start your own section, maybe they will?

That would be amazing. I never imagined this thread getting so popular, but people came to it for the same reason I made it, and now we've got so many names in this thread, I can't count them. It would be great if we got our own section, simply due to the user base of this phone, and the fact that it is clearly NOT a L710 lol

We must test this kernel with wicked X next and what ever roms we can to verify compatability!

Great find!

I already planned to try a variety of ROMs to see if this kernel works with them lol

Edit

Our brothers over at XDA are reinventing the wheel... This thread has come so far, and we've learned so much, even how to fix the Conquest rotation issue, and they're still trying to figure out which ROMs are good to go on this phone... People saying to flash ND8 fixes... It's a pity, really...

Is my upload still working? It is my first upload. Sugestions will be appreciated.
I don't know how to make a flashable zip but if you have acces to your sd card or external, you can put the folder in there and use Philz to restore the system, it worked for me.

If anybody has a better way or easy way, please share!

Thanks!

I can't get it to work on my phone. I put it in "Clockwork" then into "Backup".... when I go to flash it into Restore from /sd, it says, "No files found"

Internal.. Does it have to be a zip file?

EDIT: I think I found the problem... It was in "Clockwork" then "Clockwork" then "Backup"

Lol Pretty sure thats the issues

I imagine that's what it was lol
No, when do a restore, it's partition files... Not zips.
The only time it needs to be a zip file is when you're installing a zip from SD lol

I had 11 files and it took me 2 hours to download it... ?

**EDIT: Can someone walk me thru it or try to anyways ... Message me at mellyannex@gmail.com..

Thanks!

Plug phone into USB (Or insert card into card reader, whichever you do)
Open the mounted partition (SD Card)
create folder "Clockworkmod"
Open it
Create folder "backup"
Everything you downloaded, should be in a folder (e.g. All the tar, tar.a, tar.b should be in a folder, you can name it "stock")
So it should be /clockworkmod/backup/stock/*
Reboot to recovery, backup and restore, restore from /sdcard1
Select Stock, then yes.
