T-Mobile LTE Phones do get LTE on Metro Pcs

I've read these threads and am super happy you posted this one answering everyone's questions.

I just want to clarify for my final phone decision:

I'm looking at buying a Note 3 from T-Mobile. I've done my research and a lot of people have it working on Metro yet it isn't on their "Bring Your Own Phone" list. Almost everyone I see that have successfully established their phone on Metro's network did so by just calling metro to switch their phone. I was just wondering if anyone here has had luck in getting them to use your Note 3.

Thanks guys!

using one now, its a beast

Will this work without having to visit a MPCS store?

T-Mobile Pre-Paid Samsung GS3 LTE 16GB, Titanium Gray/Marble White: Prepaid Cell Phones : Walmart.com

I just put my SIM card and go? I have $60 unlimited plan and live in LTE region. (Boston)
Kinda sorta , you still have to call metro first and tell them about your phone... Once they stop that backward way of phone swapping I may come back, I change phones to many times a day to keep calling *228 to give them ieim

No you do not have to unlock them, and yes I am sure, and long as are you're in LTE coverage for T-mobile, you will get LTE. I've seen at least 4 threads with people asking this.
Okay can somebody please HELP! I bought a t moble galaxy s4 and its supposed to be unlocked, sombody unlocked it for me and said when i insert my metro pcs sim card on it and turn it on, it should ask me for the code to unlock. But when I turn it on it doesn't ask for anything and I dont seem to have any service even with the metro pcs card insert in it. How??? Can somebody please help me solve this problem

Sounds like whoever "unlocked it for you" didn't.

You need to activate calling Metro or thru website or going to a Metro Service center

Have you called metro and linked the SIM card with your IMEI? That's how metro does "BYOD"

Wouldn't need to be unlocked for T-Mobile to Metro that's why no code prompt pops up

Make sure it has a clean iemi, put in the most recent metro PCs Sim card (not the orange ones) call metro to activate /pair the imei and Sim card number.

what if they still owe money and are paying it off?
If they still owe money but are current on there payments it can be activated yes. But as someone said before it's a risk because since they don't own the phone anymore there incentive to continue to pay it off is gone and most likely will stop making the payments. Once this happens the phone will be blacklisted and you will have a paperweight. T mobile will not even allow you to pay off the remaining balance nor will they give you any information on how much is owed or anything. The only way to unblacklist it is to have the original owner who signed the e.I.p. document to call and pay off the device. So again as stated unless that person is family or a really really good friend it's very dangerous to buy a phone still on an e.I.p. payment system.

Buying a phone from Craiglist or any similar free-for-all site is always a risk. The risk can be anything from getting a stolen or blacklisted phone to ending up stabbed in a back alley someplace.
Seriously, there are better places to buy a used phone that are safer and have a higher rate of success. Best is probably Swappa which is dedicated to phones and mobile devices, it's closely monitored and both sellers and buyers must have user accounts with verified identity, and phone IMEI's are checked and must be clean before the phone can be listed.

Buying a used phone always has some buyers risk but I've gotten some decent deals on craigslist. You just gotta do your best to cover all your bases. Always meet in a public place or even better at your providers store. Always always always check the imei. Tmobile has an imei checker on there website and it even tells you if the phone is on an e.i.p. plan. Swappa also has there own imei/meid checker. Both can be used from your cell phone and both take a minute to use. Also use your own gut feelings. If someone is selling a s5 for 100 bucks odds are there's something up. If a deal seems to good to be true usually it is. Also if the seller just seems shady to you or won't answer a basic question like why are you selling it? I'd suggest looking elsewhere. If someone is legit they will have no problem talking to you about the device. Why there selling it what they got to replace it what they liked about it etc etc. Always ask questions and make small talk to gauge the person your buying from. Of course none of these are full proof or mean there's 100% chance you won't get ripped off but again they put the odds in your favor that your making a legit purchase.

Yep, I always recommend meeting the seller at the carriers store and having them verify it's OK before buying.
