I am using an AT&T Radiant Z740 and every time I boot it up, there is an annoying tune that I have no idea how to shut it off. Would appreciate any help on this. I do not know how to root a phone if that is what it takes I am willing to try. Thank you.

I have since installed Framaroot and superuser. Install was verified. Quesgtion is how can I get to the boot files? Is there an app I can get that would help on this issue?

if you are rooted, you can navigate to your system folder with root browser from the google play and find the media folder. you should see a bootanimation.zip and a bootanimation.mp3. the name may be a variation like bootup.mp3 of boot.mp3 or it could be a .ogg. this MIGHT work as newer versions of android like kitkat use a diiferent method to put sound in boot animation and some companies do it differently altogether but in the /system/media folder, if there is a sound file with the name boot, it's the file you want and it is safe to delete. do not delete anything else from any other folder unless you are sure of what you are doing.

Thank you smartman, I have resolved this issue. I found a file on google play. It's rom tool lite. I found the file, bootup.mp3 and gave it the delete press and gone. This was done after I had rooted the phone. One thing though and that is when I run my security scanner, CM Security, it brings up framaroot and two others, BroadAnywhere and TowelRoot. Should I get rid of all these at this time?
