Root Messed up, bad.

I can run the grabber. A couple of questions though. It seems to use it I flash it from within CWM as if I were to flash a ROM, correct? And, is this going to copy any of my personal data?

Sorry for being so slow, I get rather busy...
Correct. Flash it from CWM like a ROM. It will not copy any personal data. Once it is finished, you will have a directory on your sdcard called force_partitions. Zip it up and upload it :)

No offense intended there, knoober. You seam like a cool person and I have enjoyed your input here on the forums and willingness to test.

Cheers,

I wonder if I shouldn't be the one to apologize. I really thought that maybe there was some leg pulling happening. I really do apologize.

Now back to business, Jb for the force! I have been trying real hard to just port it but I cannot seem to find one with the same screen resolution ( which according to my reading is important). I thought I read that you had adjusted the screen resolution in the sprint rom? How'd you do that? With that info maybe I can make a working port. ( don't keep your fingers crossed because all I've got is a tutorial from xda not results)

I've been so busy. I got my galaxy s4 and activated on freedompop (which has it's downsides, but you can't argue with the price) and this has been pushed onto my back burner. Actually someone is going to give me a fully functional galaxy s5 with a crack in the screen to replace the LCD on an iPhone 5c ($27 part on ebay!) Great trade for me!!! I'd really LOVE to keep it, but i am working right now doing PC, laptop, phone repairs, office computer work, selling android TV boxes, whatever to make a buck off of craigslist and I really need cash and unfortunately freedompop doesn't activate s5's and I don't think I can afford other carriers right now.

I might do some looking before I sell it, though. The working s5 with cracked screen is worth about the same amount as my s4 so if I can sell one and find an affordable plan with LTE I might keep the s5. Anyone have suggestions for sim unlocked cheap carriers? I don't care GSM or CDMA, just must be cheap. My freedompop is 200 min, 500 txts, and 500mbs of data for free and I pay $2.50/mo for voicemail. That's hard to compete with when you're broke.

Right now I'm trying to revert to stock recovery without a flashable cwm zip for the recovery image, and my phone is mostly non-functioning ever since i flashed your modem.img onto it. All I have is CWM. Trying to decide if I'll build the cwm.zip to flash the recovery or if it would be easier to flash my modded JB rom (the only one that currently boots) and then dd the image. I need stock recovery bc the ROM from the ZTE site won't flash in CWM and errors out for some reason.

I wish the stickied "Stock Recovery" thread already had the cwm flashable zip and not just the image file. I guess I'll go ahead and build one and then post it there for others who might be in my situation to use.

I need it back to stock ICS rom so I can get any messages or texts that people have sent to me in the last 2 months while my phone has been not working and I was still paying for boost and I have to do it tonight so I can cancel and not pay for another month tomorrow.

After all that I might try looking at the images you uploaded from the scrape script superr provided and integrate it into a cwm flashable zip with the JB rom. Might not get to all of the ROM building tonight bc i'm sick and don't really feel like doing this tonight.

I'm still not ready to give up on this yet though. Even though I've moved on, I'd like to see a JB release for this phone that anyone can flash. It's really a great platform, such a shame that there aren't more devs on it. Biggest downside with using a ZTE, even if the hardware is great, it just doesn't get the same kind of coverage and development that the bigger brands do.

I do think one day ZTE will be respected as a true contender, we're just too far ahead of their growth in the market.

Cheers guys, I'm going to be back on this over the next few days. Hopefully we'll have a working ROM very soon.

I don't have time to make the flashable recovery.zip for now. I used CWM to reboot into bootloader and then fastboot to boot the original reovery and the ZTE original update.zip flashed like a charm. Just booted for the first time and it looks like it's working perfectly. Doing profile update and prl now.

At least I know now that I didn't do any permanent damage by flashing your modem image and reflashing the stock ROM replaced that modem image with the one from ICS.

Now hopefully all I have to do to get JB working is to replace those partition images in the stock update.zip with your images that you uploaded, mash it with the JB ROM kernel and system image, and it should work! I might get this working tonight after all!

I'll keep everyone posted!
Cheers,
