Help Have an unusual problem

OK, I had the Droid Maxx and still have the Nexus 7 2013 model. I've had this trouble for a long time and cannot seem to fix it. My troubles are with previewing songs in Google Play. I cannot preview songs at all. I see an artist I like has come out with a new album, I'm interested, so I go to preview that artists songs. All I get is a white triangle with a red exclamation point next to the song.

I have tried everything. I have tried both devices. Both on the same Internet. I have tried on cellular on my phone. Both are under my username. Both the phone and this Nexus have this issue. I have looked on Google and not one bit of information can be found except one and it's from Google and it tells you the obvious. "Make sure you're connected to the Internet," "sign out and back in on your device," "we have more important things to do, like make money, so stop asking us questions we do not intend to ever address."

It's getting annoying that two separate android devices cannot preview songs in Google play. Now three devices. I just tried my temporary android phone that I bought recently. Same white triangle with red exclamation point. I know it's not the Internet because it doesn't work on cellular either, sound cloud works great on both, and my Apple device can preview songs in their store.

Is anyone encountering this issue? I would really like this resolved because if it's not, then I guess instead of another android phone I'll be buying an Apple iPhone instead since it works and Android does not. Thank you for your help.

I apologize. I forgot that people get bent out of shape if one mentions other devices in forums like this. Be it Apple, Windows, Android, Amazon or whatever. The only reason I mentioned that I would go with Apple is because it appears to be the only OS that seems to be working for me.

I know I mentioned switching to Apple because of the preview music thing in Android, but tell me, what are the odds that three separate Android devices, three separate Androids, ASUS, some off brand I am using as a cell phone and my recent cell phone the Droid Maxx, what are the odds that all three are having this same issue? I have gone into settings and everything is as it should be. I just cannot preview music at all. On my Apple device, the music store is fine. I can preview to my hearts content.

I realize that this is an Android forum, but if I knew how to fix something in Android and someone mentioned Apple, I wouldn't get upset or refuse to help that person. I lost that sort of childishness back in middle school. So someone prefers one device over another. Shouldn't be a problem. I don't prefer Apple over Android. I think they both have their ups and downs, Apple seeming to have less quirks than Android, but I prefer both devices overall and use both the same amount of time throughout the day. Yes, Apple's music preview works and Android's music preview does not. However, Android works better in other areas that Apple doesn't, so I think that is being fair regarding my remark.

I apologize if I offended anyone by my assertion that Apple's music preview works better than Android's. I hope I can still play and don't have to take my ball home.

Regardless of any device preferences, let's see if we can help you out. :thumbsupdroid:

First, I've got two questions for you:
1) Do you subscribe to All Access? (I do, so my forthcoming test results may differ because of that)
2) Have you tried removing and re-adding your Google account on the affected devices? Sometimes stuff can get kind of janky (for lack of a better word), so resetting those accounts can be a good starting point.

Now I'm about to pop out for some lunch, so I'll test the Preview function on my N4 and my N7. Was there a particular album/artist/song that you were looking at?

For what it's worth, I have both a Droid Maxx and a Nexus 7 2013 like the OP, and I can preview songs on both of them just fine. At this point, I'd start looking at the OPs Google account. Consider signing out of your devices and either having a friend sign in temporarily or creating a new account and signing in with it for testing purposes. If that works, then you know it's an account issue. If not, it still could be something with the devices themselves, though I think this would be extremely unlikely since you're experiencing the same thing on multiple devices and no one else seems to be having a problem

(Forgot to mention, I do not subscribe to All Access, so this truly was a preview in that I listened to 60 seconds of a few songs that I would otherwise have to pay for)

It might have something to do with your location. I know Google restricts certain aspects of the Play store by country. I'm not sure if this list is current, but if you are not in the U.S. you might want to see if you are blocked because of your location.

Ok, thank you all for helping me with this issue. I have tried the signing out and signing back in and even signing in with another gmail account and get the same issue.

Now, to respond to the location issue. I think you nailed it. I am living in Thailand. I hadn't thought of that because I know Thai people listen to music like he rest of us and he majority of their devices are Android. Oh man, please don't let that be the reason I can't preview music here. I can purchase music just fine, as I have done that a few times since being here, from the Music portion of the Play store. Is there any way around this problem?
