Well before installing you were told to make a backup, restore to that backup and install the rom, THEN wipe data and cache.

DISCLAIMER-I am not responsible if anything I provided suddenly deep fries your device or causes lava to rain from the sky.
This is also NOT a suitable build.prop, it will not boot. It is just something to get you past the device check.
It also should work for the USC and Boost versions of this phone.

Ok, compiled it. It is NOT a signed .zip, so you need to disable signature verification in your recovery section. You need to download it to your computer. Here, you have two options. To use adb sideload or adb push, it doesn't matter. But I would use adb push.

1.) Adb push- Put it in the same directory as your adb if you are in Windows. In a terminal (or cmd, if you are in Windows), adb push it to your /sdcard, type "adb push Flashable_buildprop /sdcard". Then find and flash it.

2.) Hit "Install zip from sideload" in recovery. Connect to your computer and type "adb sideload Flashable_buildprop.zip" and it will sideload it.

Try this. After trial and error this is finally what mikewmills and I used to do before this phone had any custom anything. Just root.

Download the app from here (make sure you are logged into google play):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.android.wifi.tether

then use these settings:

Device - Profile : Generic ICS/JB (wlan0)

Change SSID to something simple: tether

Wifi-driver reload 2: enabled

Make sure routing fix is: enabled

Then start tether.

After tether has started you should see "Other Network" in your list of wifi networks on the device you want to connect with. After starting a connection with "Other Network" it will ask you for the name of the network at which point you will enter the ssid name. In the example from above you would enter: tether.

voila wifi tether works.

ps make sure your connections optimizer is off or it will interfere with the app.

Sorry it took me soooo long to get back to you guys on this. But this is the only method that works. It's a little tricky so follow the instructions to the T.
Got a tablet on black fridsy and internet
got shut. off this morning. So i tryied
tethering tje first app im.sulposes to. Clixkon opens for a secound and goes away
. So i read threw almost this full thread till i found the above quote. I click the link and theres nothing. There

It wasn't clear initially which wifi tether app you were talking but I believe you are using WIFI Tether - TrevE Mod. I installed that app and I unchecked everything except for what you said to check and selected wlan0 as the device. Tether still does not start. I checked the log with "show log" and everything ran successfully except enabling MSS Clamping which failed.

I was using v3.3-pre2 and I just upgraded to v3.4. I found your instructions still don't start the tether service but these do (using v3.4 not v3.3-pre2 as instructions suggest):

1) On your device download and install the Wifi Tether TrevE Mod APK Download apk/wifitether/treve/wifi_tether_v3_3-pre2.apk at DownloadAndroidROM.com Install using the package installer and not the Google installer. (Again you must have installation from unknown sources enables in security)

2) Launch the app Wifi Tether TrevE Mod and make the following chnages to the settings.

3) Press on “Change Device-Profile”, select “Generic ICS/JB (wlan0)”.

4) Choose “Change Setup-Method”, select “Netd-Ndc (master)”.

5) Make sure “Send Netd Max Client Cmd” is checked.

6) Make sure either “WiFi-driver reload” or “WiFi-driver reload 2″ is checked on. If wifi tether fails for some reason you can change this to the one you didn’t use.

7) Scroll down and make sure “MSS clamping” and “Routing fix” are both checked on.

So now I can start the tether service and my laptop wifi can scan and see the phone. The problem is when I attempt to connect to the phone using my laptop, it does not connect. I've tried with and without wifi encryption enabled as well. The logs in my laptop mention a few things which may be why it can't connect:

- capabilities/regulatory prevented using AP HT/VHT configuration, downgraded
- AP has invalid WMM params (AIFSN=1 for ACI 2), disabling WMM

I'll post a guide in general later today. I hope boost won't block it.

Just wanted to bump this comment for folks that might come across this rom.

These need to be included during instillation to get voicemails. works great with them. another frustrating call to boost without them.

"But how do you know to check voice mail? Anyway I figured it out. I restored the stock zv5 and found it has vtt sprint and sprint vm. Seems I needed both for notifications to work. Thanks again."
