Root [ROM] >Another Update!< Origin v2.1 - 5/4/14

Okay, here's my 10 cents. I would like the google camera to work on this phone. Google's added it to the playstore but it is kitkat only. Second, there seems to be a problem. Third party keyboards do not work. It is a pain to enable them and they mess up the settings. Lastly, I can't enable the nav bar. I have tried but no cigar, doesn't work. Instead it toggles the overflow menu when you change the build prop line.
These are things I have noticed and I'm not sure what is causing the problem, at least for the last two :/

Google camera will not work unless you have Kit Kat. No exceptions unfortunately. Third party keyboards do work. However, its not working on your phone because of a stock issue. The problem is on the stock ROM too. The only thing I can tell you is to factory reset and keep flashing until it works. There's nothing I can do about it :/. I'm typing this on google keyboard right now in fact.

And yep, I know about the navbar. I enabled the overflow buttons to be on all the time by turning on the navbar and setting the height to 0. When your using this ROM, technically, the navbar is on and it is invisible because the height is nothing. If you want it back, replace the framework-res.apk with the stock one by pushing it. The easiest way to do this is by looking up instructions on google. Type in "reframe.sh replacing framework-res.apk" and follow the instructions

Hey guys. Just wondering if there was a guide to rooting this phone. I have the virgin mobile variant. And dies this rom work for the Supreme or just the vital? The the same phone just different carriers. Thanks!

It works on Virgin mobile phones, im using it right now :) Full 3g/4g data, wifi didn't work until 2nd reboot, but its been fine now. You need a custom recovery to flash, http://androidforums.com/vital-all-things-root/809158-cwm-beta-working.html follow the first post (You need root). To get root I used 1 click root . Make sure you have the needed drivers. The best way to egt drivers is through downloading http://pdanet.co/ . You dont need the program but when you install the program it installs the drivers you need.

Hey just reporting back. I've been using this ROM ever since it's release. I recently flashed it again hoping that it would fix a problem I've been having which is not getting voicemail notifications. Well the origin rom doesn't have any voicemail access at all. I just flashed the ROM minutes ago and upon checking the system apps can verify there is no voicemail support. I've tried installing virgin mobile voicemail apps as well with no luck to get notifications. Do you have a solution?

David do you think the lollipop rom would make the phone sluggish or boost how it handles?

It would handle the same. It won't actually be based off of 5.0. Just like this ROM is based off of 4.1.2 and it looks like kit kat. It'll still be based off of 4.1.2. I would just make it look as close to lollipop as possible

Ok so if I add /system/app/vtt-sprint.apk and push it to a system app everything should be fine? Ultimately I still won't have an official voicemail app in the drawer right? Do I need to add anything else?
So to solve my voicemail issue all I need to do is install vtt sprint? Do I need to do anything else? Will this give me the Voicemail icon for launching it?
It should, but you will have to try it to find out ;) Make sure you change the permissions if you are copying it to /system/app. The easiest way is with a root file manager such as Es File Explorer. Check the permissions of the other apps in /system/app and give /system/app/vtt-sprint.apk the same permissions. It is possible you will need to reboot after doing this to get everything working.
