Since both Virgin Mobile and Boost have the LG Volt is it possible for me to switch carriers? I dropped VM for a year and came back with the plans much different. Their "unlimited data" is crazy low. I never even came close to using all my data on old plan but now past two months I have topped out before 10 days were up. I notice Boost Mobile has some bonus data plans with much more data. Is it possible to switch from VM to Boost with this phone?

Unfortunately, Virgin Mobile USA and Boost Mobile phones cannot be exchanged between each company. This the the policy that Sprint has in place. You can try activating your Volt with MVNO's such as Ringplus or Ting, though they may not accept the VM branded Volt, but it doesn't hurt to try.

check back with virgin mobile around feb 11 2015 they announced a new unlocking policy.

Do you mean the unlocking policy that applies to all carriers in Feb 2015? That only applies to phones sold after Feb 2015, phones sold in the past aren't affected.
