Because when you get an Android skinned by a manufacturer, you get their vision of Android. I haven't used a Samsung Android (gave up on Sammy phones back when Windows Mobile was still around) but I've used several others. Even with custom launchers, you still get things changed around and visuals/themes/layouts in other parts of the system that the manufacturer bakes in. It's terrible. Menu settings often are in different areas, behavior of the device is just different.

I don't want Samsung's Android. I want Google's Android. Therefor, anything that does not come with Google's Android is crap IMO. Won't be buying any more Androids that are not either a Nexus or GPE. I'd rather go back to Windows Phone.

edit: Not to mention, everyone I personally know with a Samsung Android (which includes several co-workers, and our CEO) hates them with a passion. They want to go back to an iPhone because it's left such a bad taste in their mouths. Terrible reception, and Touchwiz bugginess, are the biggest complaints. No, thank you.

That is definitely understandable. I know that there are UI's that I don't care for and Windows is one of them. The tiles are nice, but nothing I want in a phone. The reason I want the Note 4 is because of the all the reviews, the features, the battery, etc. No other phone came close and definitely not the non expandable Nexus 6. I mean, Google should have known better, but they really dropped the ball when they didn't offer expandable memory like Samsung and other devices did.

I have noticed that several companies are following Apple's lead in not including an expandable memory slot. I didn't really care when Motorola Maxx didn't include the expansion slot, but with a screen like the Note 4 has and the picture and video quality that it has, I think I may need the extra storage. I am not one to take pictures of everything under the sun like many people today but it might come in useful if I see something worthy of a photo shoot. Otherwise, if I am somewhere people have already taken photo's of, then I can just look them up on Google.

I just updated my Nexus 7 to Lollipop 5.0.1 and I find the UI eh at best. They have changed a few things around and it seems very fluid and I noticed that Lollipop has the index card view of opened apps that Samsung has, so that will prepare me somewhat for the Note 4. Again, I have yet to find a phone that offers what the Note 4 does. Sure some phones have certain features that I would love to have that the Note 4 doesn't, but hey, that's true of every device. I love the UI in Apple devices. Very fluid and easy to use and there are other features that I like in Apple over Android, but give Android time and they will copy those features, just like Apple copied Android in several of its features.

I actually got (a rather LONG and EXTENSIVE) survey emailed to me about my N6 from AT&T today. There was a point during the survey where it asked if I was aware of the Samsung Note 4 when I made my decision to purchase. Then asked why I chose the N6 instead of the Note 4.

Really?

Anyway just thought I'd throw this out there see if anyone else did too.

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being not on your life buddy and 10 being the reincarnation of Steve Jobs, how likely would you be to complete the survey if there was an iPhone question on it? ;)

Here's the thing. I'm in a business that directly relies on customer/industry feedback. I firmly agree with and support the general idea of the "feedback process". Without it there's no way for our voices to be heard.

My major complaints with the process in general are this.

1. When the questionnaire / survey is intentionally skewed, purposefully deceptive, or generally confusing.
(Defeats the purpose)
2. When the data collected is not correctly disseminated or not used at all.
(The whole idea is to make my voice heard)
3. It's a carefully veiled attempt to sell me something.
(I am not stupid)

So overall I am happy to fill out any survey. (That fits MY criteria and suits MY purposes) ;)

I got the survey too, when they asked what could be better about the Nexus or something along that lines, I responded that AT&T should mind their own business and stop forcing their bloatware crap upon the users. Let us decided what we want to download. Also we like Nexus devices because it's pure Android, we also don't need your lousy AT&T boot logo screen either. The Nexus device itself is perfect.

They also asked something along the line of why I decided against a Note 4, 1-don't like S-pen and 2 their massive amount of Samsung bloatware.

Anyone order one(64gb) from TMobile online after Thanksgiving-1st week of Dec and still waiting for it to ship?

Have any of you heard when they might come off backorder?

Heard nothing about this.

Do you live in an area with US Cellular? If so, order from there and pop in whatever sim you have.

I held a Nexus 6 in my hands and played around with it in a T-Mobile store. Holy crap! It actually felt pretty great even compensating for the huge security lock attached to the back. that screen is gorgeous and the phone looks huge but feels good in the hand. I was surprised at how sleek the design is especially on the curves around the rim of the device. I was trying my damnedist to not buy this damn thing because of the price/size. I might as well give in, I love my N5 but this thing looks too good to pass up!

Anyone know if T-Mobile charges an insane equipment tax for the monthly installment over 24 months?
