Missed the Nexus 7 2013 Lollipop release

The latest Lollipop release was offered to my tablet a few weeks ago but unfortunately I was travelling and it was inconvenient to install. Now the software does not seem to be offered; even when I check Settings/About Tablet/System Updates it shows that I am up to date using android 4.4.4 on Build No. KTU84P.

I understand that what was offered was the 5.01 release. Will Android put out this release again to my tablet or if not, how can I obtain and install it? I am not that tech savvy and if I do the update manually it will need to be 'very simple'. I have tried to read some of the information available here but it all seems rather complex.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reply ... I think I will wait for the auto pop up. For me that is the easy peasy!
(Hey ... I am a very senior citizen beyond magic fingers and I love the tablet App auto updates!)

Per Droid Life today, Google released a factory image for 5.0.2. So that's probably why many still haven't received the 5.0.1 release. According to commenters, it still doesn't fix the memory leak though.

Android Headlines: Android 5.0.2 Factory Image For The WiFi Only Nexus 7 2013 Shows Up At Google’s Factory Image Webpage. http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIw25KwyiA

The author is incorrect in that article, the factory image is for the 2012 model, not the 2013.

Android 5.0.1 has barely been making it out to Nexus devices over the air for the last few weeks to a month, albeit mostly Nexus devices with a few non-nexus phones receiving it as well, and already Google has posted a factory image for Android 5.0.2 LRX22G for the Nexus 7 (nakasi) model on the factory image page. For those that are unaware, that’s the WiFi only model of the Nexus 7 from 2013, as the LTE model has yet to even receive any software updates for Android 5.0.

'nakasi' is 2012, 'razor' is 2013

I empathize with you Ron. I too got the OTA for 5.01, but did not load it at the time. After a few days the notification disappeared and I'm also unable to find it with the same results as you when I check for updates etc. I thought I might wait a while to see if all the complaints simmered down about L before I finally took the plunge.

I hope it shows up again for an OTA download as well. Maybe even a 5.1 update that will put to rest most if not all the current bugs et al.

Thanks Jim.
I guess we may have to wait a few weeks for the official link to appear on the tablet.
Is there any way to check that this link will show up 'sometime' on the tablet?

It will indeed show up again. Once it has rolled out to most of the nexuses; uh, nexi? Lol. It will come up nonstop. In fact it will be impossible to avoid. But you can adb sideload the update. Its the same as ota. Wugfresh nexus toolkit has the option to sideload.

Thanks. I guess I must learn to be patient. After all the 4.4.4 is functioning really good.
