Once u root your phone you can prety much put any app on your. Sd card and cydias impactor will root it and i am realy happy i got this phone. Because it is fast and smooth i just. Wish it didn't have. The locked bootloader but im surre very soon wer gonna be able to use loki or sonthing to bypass. It and be avle to insta a custom recovery.... :-D

Loki has already been ported to this phone. I have mine OC'd to 1.5GHz using a modified kernel. There is even a CyanogenMod 10.1 build for this phone but bootloops due to a kernel issue. All this phone needs is a dev that's willing to spend some time on it.

I have the galaxy legend its lije the stellar but its 3g and does not have a sim card do u know. If they're. Is anything for this phone that works i have it rooted but i cant het a customr ecovery on it with out that unauthorized software message?

Flashing anything from the stellar is risky even if the they are very similar. Here is the old bootloader for the stellar that allows custom recoveries. Flash it at your own risk with odin using the PDA option.

If you somehow manage to brick your legend it's not impossible to fix. You just need a "unbrick" image and follow this tutorial. http://rootzwiki.com/topic/109153-howto-unbrick-a-bootloader-bricked-stellar/

Looking at the legend very closely. I wonder if the hardware is still capable of 4G but disabled through software.

Well i did use the odin package for the stellar on my legend and it did boot but tje wifi didnt work and it kept saying searching for simcard but i was able to use apps and all that i just couldnt go online

Does the legend have a SIM slot but unused?

O.i c i was looking for it but i didnt c it but people were saying it does so i think there is one some where.. Also i couldnt find. The okd boot loader so let me be able to fladh recoverys.. I tried tje link but it brought me somewhere else

Alright when i get my labtop back ill try it i just hope it doesnt show that stupid triangle because i heatd the obkt way to fix the legend is finding the varizon stockfirmware but i cant find it anywhete but ill still try it.... Do u think theres a way to over clock the legend at all

Dang ghost o keep trying to get that bootloader from the link but i cant..... Just tell me where u found it so i can get it from there. I got my labtop back and i know i can get a recovery for it so im not givong up tell i do it lol

Be aware that it might brick your phone. Unbricking it is not entirely impossible you just the "unbrick" image.

Ok, it's been a while since I messed with my Stellar... I want to reset my phone because I'm having some issues with wifi direct (never been able to use it) so...

I tried using the one-click but end up with a blank screen after boot... I let it sit for 20 minutes or so and nothing (done this 4 or 5 times)

The original post says not to use it w/the ME1 update but then later says it will work. I have followed the instructions to a "T" but I still get a blank screen upon reboot (it is on, but very dimmed) - I must be missing something so very simple because I did this last year.

Hey so my buddy said hes tried it on his legend but. He said it didnt work but i dont think he did it rigbt... Is there a certain. Way to put that bootloader on the legend

Is there a way to extract the odin package and only use the bootloader for it and not the root or firmware because if we can do that it would flash on the legend then wed have a custom recovery...

This the best info I have found regarding rooting this phone. A quick question before I root:

You wrote this will not work with latest ME1 OTA. I am not sure what that is or if I have it. My phone shows I have 4.1.2 and the last part of Build Number reads MA1.

So i assume that means I have MA1 and not ME1. (Again, not really sure what that means)

You are good to go. Just follow the instructions VERY carefully @ and do everything in proper order. Also, give your phone enough time when you are done, for it to finish.
If you have trouble post back and I or someone else will help you out.

I have one question, really new to this and just got this phone at a yard sale so this is my situation. I used this program and everything was fine up until the end on my phone it says:

When it didnt work I went ahead and restarted my phone and it said something went wrong and need to factory reset so i did. now sim card isn't being detected. anyway to fix the authorization? or is this b/c of my os? any help is greatly appreciated.

and this is the only program i have downloaded/used other than android sdk manager is there anything else i need?

well, I apparently did this totally wrong.

I have a Samsung stellar with 4.1.2

I got it into DL mode and flashed it using the tool in the first post of this thread.

it appeared to work but on reboot it keeps saying things like "unfortunately the process com android.phone has stopped" over and over again.

it seems to keep losing its connection to Verizon as well.

basically, the phone is not usable.

any ideas?

EDIT:

taking the battery out has no effect.

in "about phone" it says:

installed great, loaded up then same exact problem as the guy above me. Phone completely useless, process com android.phon has stopped over and over again for 20 or 30 seconds then it reboots to do it all over again, but it does have su :-\
