For some odd reason, my phone was asking for my pin instead of my pattern. Since I didn't know it and had no other options, I decided to use the Android Device Manager to lock my phone and set up a temporary password so I could access it. I locked my phone and set up a password, but guess what? The password wasn't working. I tried several times by resetting the password and nothing worked. I can't lose all of my data, so I was wondering if there was any way out of this situation? I searched Google and got no help there because there is no way I can contact them for this sort of problem. Would any of you kind people be able to assist me?

Kyleigh did you ever find a solution? My mom is having the same problem with her phone. When we try to use the Google Device Manager to set a password, a little blue bar appears that says "we successfully sent a lock request to your device." The blue bar quickly changes and says "Since Google verified that a screen lock is already set, the password you entered won't be needed." We still tried the new password and it didn't work.
