Hey, guys. I've had a Galaxy Epic on Sprint and a Galaxy S2 on AT&T. My S2 died about a year or so ago, and I wasn't able to upgrade. I bought a refurbished Atrix HD. It's a pile of turd!!!

Fast forward, I'm still using the Atrix. I like the Galaxy S4 for its size (small hands). The S5 is too big. I don't like that the Galaxy Alpha doesn't have expandable memory. That's a deal breaker for me! Otherwise I love the specs on it! Size is perfect, too!

So are there any more high end phones in that size range coming soon? Less than 5" screen.

Or what are your thoughts on buying a phone that's already been out for like 18 months (S4)?

I'm using S5 and it's nearly perfect for me. Great screen, camera, reception and long lasting battery. Only gripe is lot of bloats that need to be disabled. Too bad you are not ok with anything above 5" screen, but S5 is fine for me size wise. It's just marginally bigger than S4.

You may get S4 or Moto X and they are still pretty decent phones. I don't think anything smaller than 5" coming out from now on unless looking at mid-range or low end models.

edit: I forgot to mention G2 my wife is using. Though it has 5.2" screen, it's actually smaller than S4 due to its super slim bezels. It's good phone too with long lasting battery, fast UI.
