Root Build.prop Tweaking

Will modding the build.prop of this phone brick it. I have ordered this phone and will get it after spring break and I need to know cause I plan to at least do build.prop tweaks without the worry of bricking. I'm used to modding (Motorola Defy) and I've heard of people bricking their phones while modding their build.prop and I want to know what to expect.

Hello and welcome to the forums. I see your device will not be a problem with bricking if you do it correct . if you root . MAKE A BACKUP and keep this backup in a safe place . the build.prop editing can brick but if u have a backup . just flash the backup to fix a bootloop .

I know to backup but you do know the phone does not have a clockworkmod right? I'm scared to brick it cause this will be my new main phone.

If you root it will put the clockworkmod on the device and this will give you the read/write permission so that you can change the build.prop . do you have a copy of what you need to change on the build.prop.

Omg, I'm telling you I know what I'm going to put in the build.prop. Rooting this device(any device at the matter) will not put clockworkmod on the phone you have to put it on there yourself but no one has figured out how to get a working clockworkmod on this device and no one has yet to make one because this phone has a new locked bootloader and I'm afraid of changing the build.prop cause someone modded their build.prop and maybe made an error and soft bricked their Evolve.

Hey can someone upload that build.prop file from /system cause i edited that one instead of the build.prop in the /custpack and my phones in a bootloop now and i already have found several options for restoring it. I just need someone to get me that original file for the Alcatel One Touch Evolve 5020t

Nevermind I've found an adb solution for this bootloop that works if you've edited the build.prop in /system that requires root I'm going to post a thread later for this solution
