Root [MetroPCS / TMOBILE] [ROM] U.S. KitKat MINI 4.4.2

ok, i think i've figured out wherein the problem lies with my NFC.... i've downloaded the factory firmware from LG, & used the utility to put it back to stock. still didn't work, but - when i do a cwm backup of the stock rom, it says, "no android_secure found. skipping backup of applications on external storage" then proceeds to backing up the cache & doing the MD5. so, can anyone who has a CWM backup of a stock MS500 send me a copy of their backup?

i don't know. if you remove the back cover on yours, can you still click the NFC button & it come on? not talking about if it actually works to send/receive stuff, just if the app turns on on the phone. the pins coming out of the back of the phone are in perfect condigion.... & i measured the resistance across the contact pads on the back cover, & it reads somewhere between .3 & .4 ohms, so i know there's no broken connection in the cover itself. when i'm running the stock rom, it still wont activate, but at least it's not caught in an initialization loop. when i've got 4.4.2 loaded, it runs constantly in an initialization loop, failing, then trying to reload. it's just strange. guess i'm going to have to contact LG

My question is has it ever worked at all since you got the phone? Like even on the very first day.

Nope sending you a copy of our backup wil give u access to our info. N imei will brake both phs functionality it can even mess up baseband. The best thing u can do is try to change back cover to see if its the antenna
That is correct other than the part about the imei. The imei gets stored on a different partition that recovery doesn't have access to. What does present a problem is personal data like accounts on the device and contacts and sms etc..
It would however be safe to send someone a twrp backup of the SYSTEM AND BOOT PARTITIONS ONLY. This would be safe since no personal info gets stored on either of these partitions.
Not that it would fix the problem.

Has anybody else ever had a "kernal crash?" Sometimes (not very often) my phone will freeze up, the first lg boot logo pops up, then it says kernal crash. Its not that big of a deal since it doesn't happen that much but it would be nice to know that others are having this problem as well and maybe a way to fix it.

ok, going thru the logs over & over, i've found two files used in initializing the NFC adapter, which are both missing. they're /data/font/config/sfconfig.dat and /data/font/config/dfactpre.dat
i'm pretty sure those don't contain any personal information.
Did you know the wanam module in the xposed framwork has control options for the NFC hardware ?
