just long press on the home screen, and then select add/widget
then scroll through the available widgets and add it back. Be sure you are on the screen with the missing widget before you attempt to do this. That oughta get you right back to where it was!

Good luck
Aloha

Hi I've tried that, I've tried everything the actual widget is gone missing..It's like it's been uninstalled or something

Did you recently change your launcher ?

Some widgets are part of TouchWiz, and they are not available if you change you Launcher to things like Nova etc...

I do understand that you might like that widget very much, but could I recommend an alternate ? UCCW widget. You can actually built your own, from custom font, to custom weather icon, and tons info for the widget to display. Far better than the stock! Not as friendly at first, but once you play around and get how it works, you can built some really cool stuff.

If you did not install launchers and everything is stock, you can visit Samsung App store (not google play). Most of their widgets are available there.

Hi thanks for the reply , turns out I have disabled the widget in the applications section and have completely forgot about it . And yes the weather widget only works with the TouchWiz not the Nova Launcher . I will be looking for alternatives as TouchWiz can be laggy.

I have the S5, but I assume the process will be the same. I hope this helps. I removed my default weather app from the home screen and then wanted to put it back on. I also couldn't find it in applications. This is what I discovered to fix it:

-Press and hold one of the menu screens
-Go to "Widgets"
-Scroll through your widgets to find the weather widget
-Press and hold the weather widget to add it to one of your menu screens

My weather widget was the very last one. So keep scrolling through till you find it. I hope this helps and that its the same process for the S4.

I had the same problem some time ago, here is the answer to your question. Go to settings from main menu, and the click General tab and continue with "about phone". Then tap on the update center > app updates and find the weather widget and install it.

This is the real solution for your question.
This is indeed the real solution to my problem, I didn't want another weather app, I wanted the one that originally was on my phone before I reset it. Thank you, I doubt I would have found it otherwise.

aaronmcnees, please explain which model Samsung has a "General tab". I have currently four Samsung S4 Galaxy GT-i9505 smart phones. Three are running Android version 5.0.1. The other I have 'rooted' and installed CM13 ROM into and is running version 6.0.1 - NONE of these versions show a 'General' tab. If you go > Apps > Settings > the headings shown are Connected - My Device - Accounts - More. Touch More and About device > software updates is at the top but is for version updates. If you require Apps - you need to go to Google Play Store to locate and download the App you require. You can go to Application Manager > All and locate Apps installed and disable or close them from there.

If you have a look at the top of this page you will see:
and on the left of that Android Phones. If you click on that - it will display all the individual phones and brands/makes/models. Make sure you select the CORRECT Forum when you reply/assist with your input, hence the reason I asked where 'General' tab was listed as Samsung DON'T have that wording. Providing info in the wrong Forum can be quite misleading as you will now be aware.
This should refer to Post by cglrgnc as well.
