Or, as they say in the interbebz, RUKM?

I've had my Nexus 6 and my Moto 360 for about a month now. I couldn't be happier with them. So, this morning I get an email from AT&T asking me to review my device. Normally I would decline the request, but i thought this phone in particular was worth rating. Naturally, I gave it 5 stars and posted in the comments area
Big phone, big features

This is a big phone. BIG! It's an adjustment but I couldn't go back to a smaller phone now. It's great with everything ... battery, signal, call quality, GPS ... all what you'd expect from Motorola's flagship. I don't have much negative to say about it other than the back is a fingerprint magnet, and the placement of the buttons is a bit inconvenient if you have a car dock.

After filling out a lot more personal information than necessary which they require to post :cool:, I hit submit. A minute or two later I get an email asking me to confirm the review was from me. Okay, they want to curtail spammers, i get that. But, shortly after that I get this email ...

We appreciate you taking the time to write a review. Unfortunately, our staff has read your review and determined your review does not meet AT&T guidelines for posting. We encourage you to review these guidelines and resubmit. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

Hmmm, being that I am called upon to enforce our own rules and policies from time to time, I thought it might be possible that I have overstepped some obscure boundary, so I decided to review the guidelines.

By submitting any content to AT&T, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are the sole author and owner of the intellectual property rights thereto;
  • All "moral rights" that you may have in such content have been voluntarily waived by you;
  • All content that you post is accurate;
  • You are at least 13 years old;
  • Use of the content you supply does not violate these Terms and Conditions and will not cause injury to any person or entity.
You further agree and warrant that you shall not submit any content:

  • That is known by you to be false, inaccurate or misleading;
  • That infringes any third party's copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary rights or rights of publicity or privacy;
  • That violates any law, statute, ordinance or regulation (including, but not limited to, those governing export control, consumer protection, unfair competition, anti-discrimination or false advertising);
  • That is, or may reasonably be considered to be, defamatory, libelous, hateful, racially or religiously biased or offensive, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing to any individual, partnership or corporation;
  • For which you were compensated or granted any consideration by any third party;
  • That includes any information that references other websites, addresses, email addresses, contact information or phone numbers;
  • That contains any computer viruses, worms or other potentially damaging computer programs or files.
Section one. I wrote it, I have voluntarily waived my "moral rights" (whatever that means). I am over 4 times 13 years old and I recognize invalid circular logic when I see it, so I will gladly agree not to violate anything that is a violation. :rolleyes:

Section two. I thought I wrote something that was truthful, accurate and clear. Other than using Motorola's name without a "®" I don't see any copyrighted material here. No laws were broken, unless there is an ordinance against using the word "Big" twice on the same line in December. :thinking: Hmmm, maybe "fingerprint" or "flagship" are defamatory expressions. And no links were posted, spammy, virus-laden or otherwise. The only thing I did submit was my email address which they now have used to notify me three times for marketing purposes.

This on the other hand is an actual review that was permitted.
Bought the Nexus 6 a few days ago and the device is amazing. Easily one of if not the best device on the market. Fast, smooth, beautiful screen, and an atractive phone over all. I only wished it had a micro SD card slot, or that AT&T would sale the 64gb model. I'd rather had the bigger one.

I reiterate ... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

The bureaucracy that pours so freely from the big blue death star never ceases to amaze me. (Which is saying something - I been around ya know.) And this is another case of WHAT IN THE FUDGE are these people thinking, doing, trying to get away with? My only assumption on your review would be A. the use of the company name Motorola or B. they did not want a ringing endorsement of something not made by Samsung or Apple. or sadly C. they only wanted your personal information to market to you. o_O (Pessimistic much?)

If I get an opportunity similar to what you have shared I too will update with my outcome here.

I'm puzzled as well. o_O

Both your review and the allowed one don't appear to be against any of their rules and are very similar - mostly positive with a minor complaint.
Exactly. I am tempted to try and repost a different review to see if it flies, but their website is torturously slow.

Riddle me this Batman ...

I reposted a review that was almost identical and it was approved.

Here's the one that made it:
I've had my Nexus 6 for almost a month now. The 6" screen is fantastic, although it did take a little time to get accustomed to the larger sized phone. It's solidly built and beautifully finished, although the back does tend to fingerprint.

Software wise, I'm already running Android 5.01 and it's fluid and responsive. The material design format really enhances the Android experience.

I would say the biggest surprise was the sound from the front facing speakers. It's loud, clear and fairly full tonally.

The one thing I wasn't particularly happy with was the position of the buttons as they interfere with my car dock.

The only significant difference that I can see is that I didn't mention Motorola specifically. Now, if I could only find an emoji with the eyes rolling out the back of its head ....
