Help Tab 3 TWRP and No Command

Hi. I have a problem that someone here might be able to help with. I have rooted my Tab 2 and S2, plus my new S4. However, this is a new Tab 3 (5210) experience/problem. I searched for my specific issue, but found similar and not identical problems or fixes.

I followed a method commonly found to install TWRP on the flash root using Odin 3.07. I opened in TWRP and followed instructions. The thing froze at "updating partition details". I did a search and found that several have overcome that problem by simply holding down the power button. I did so and the tab rebooted.
Root check says no root.
I try to get back to recovery and TWRP is nowhere to be found - tried going from off to recover and from download mode to recovery. Nothing.
The recovery that does appear seems wrong. I have posted pics. I am able to reboot and the tablet powers up with no problem.
How can I do one of the following? 1. Correct the issue and continue with rooting or 2. go back to before I started tinkering and have an unbroken recovery that will function properly. I would prefer to root, add recovery (twrp or cwm) and remove bloatware.
Thanks in advance.
