Its in my hands, updated to 5.0.1, getting ready to unlock bootloader, install twrp and root. I will probably run encrypted.

Quick thoughts:
Phone is big and slick and actually a bit awkward to hold. I am glad I order the cases. Its almost all screen. Power and volume buttons seem to be in a bad place at least for me.

Right now I am unsure if I am going to run this thing full (stick my sim card in it) until I get my cases in. I am leery of dropping this beast and since two previous Nexus 5's hit the ground and shattered the screen, yeah...

Off to unlock and root!

EDIT:
Done!

Also noted my index finger likes to find the dimple... the camera lens that is. D'OH!

My nexus 6 came yesterday but we weren't home when it did, so it got delayed. The good news is it arrived early this morning. I am using my LG optimus L90 still, decided to make sure the battery on the nexus was fully charged before i put it into service, so hopefully the next time i post it will be with my new nexus 6

And we have a green light! All systems are go:)

Just ordered a 64gb model. Upgrading from a note 3. I knew I wanted a large screen size but didn't want to get locked into AT&T next as i'd then be stuck on it for life. Not a lot of large screen phones out there so I want with the nexus 6 so I wouldn't be stuck with carrier bloatware and could get updates when they actually come out.
Now I just need to figure out how to root it to get the LED working.

This is the way I did mine. Not trying to say this is the best way but it works very easily and is 100% effective.

I used Wug Fresh tool kit to unlock the boot loader and install a custom recovery. No need to root it. I then used the custom recovery (TWRP) to install Dirty Unicorns Rom and TBO Gapps. This rom is a rooted rom and is IMHO is great! The TBO stands for Team Black Out and is a great Google Apps (GAPPS) package.

Done deal and very easy to do :)

So I have had my nexus 6 going on a month. My wife gave me the choice of switching to the HTC M one 8 or the Samsung galaxy s4. My response was a big hell no!!! I have a nexus 6 one of the hardest to get phones on the market, there is a six to eight week wait to get one of these things:) no way I am trading down

No, the phone is under warranty and if I rooted it would cancel the warranty and the second something went wrong,my wife would root me in the worst possible way:thinking:
