5.0 Update incoming (Verizon)

Usually check my phone for updates every few days, this popped up just now.

"This first of 2 software updates for your Samsung Galaxy S5 prepares your device for the next update which is Android 5.0 (Lollipop)"

Downloading as I type this.

Yep Verizon beat out the other US carriers to be the first with 5.0.
After install & an update to play services most ppl seem to be enjoying the lollipop experience

VRU = Verizon

This is NOT a stock Samsung firmware release but a hybrid carrier version as per #1.6 of 35 Galaxy S5 models - know yours??? This release is based on the NLC, December 2014, build.

EDIT (Video) It seems that unlike all the previous stock releases from Samsung, Verizon's own hybrid version of Lollipop requires not 1 but 2, separate updates to get Lollipop up and running on the G900V??? Looks as though they just couldn't cram all their extra bloatware and modifications into just one update. Let the fun and games begin!

yep got mine last nite....did a check for update... received 2 updates... first one was to get the phone ready for the lollipop update... sure hope this runs smoother than it does on my Nexus 7..

I am waiting for all of the updates issues to be resolved before I allow the 5.0 install to proceed.
