MX Enjoy TV Box

I've just received my MX Enjoy TV Android box with preloaded settings/apps from my IPTV provider.
Is there a way to completely back up the whole image (clone) the entire system including all the settings and apps (similar to Windows cloning programs)? I want to do that before something happens to the box.

Also, since the box came with non-functional remote (waiting for the new one in the mail) and since it's cheap/low quality remote what good but IR (not RF) remote would you recommend me to buy and why as a main remote control (I would keep cheap original as a back up) that would work with my box (something hat has all the features like maximize/minimize screen, easy to handle and quite one that doesn't wake up my wife when changing the channels)? The link, if you have, would be appreciated.

Thanks all!

Would probably have to use a universal or a learning remote, like a Logitech Harmony. Where you input the manufacturer's code, or you teach it from your existing remote.

If you factory reset it, it would likely wipe all the preloaded IPTV stuff. We had a post about that recently with another "MX" type box, it reset and everything was erased. For backing it all up. you'd probably have to do a Nandroid. http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-perform-and-restore-a-nandroid-backup/ ...which requires root and a custom recovery for the particular device. Be best to check with the manufacturer or the vendor for this, see what they have to say about backing-up and restoring. Some can restore and update their IPTV content from the manufacturer's server, as long as it's available.

Thanks mikedt,

Since the replacement for my broken original remote didn't arrive yet is it possible to use some universal remote control and search the code from the android box itself without knowing anything about the hardware inside?

I am afraid to install additional software (rooting) before I do full image back up.
Is it possible to create apk file from already side loaded (unavailable on the net) app that is running fine on the box (backwards)?

You Dont need to do image backup cause some of the repository change and may not work when you do a back up but in most boxes if you do a cleaning the info is burned either on the SD card or the box brain . now for remotes most of them Dont work and require you to get either one of these

My replacement (original cheap) remote has arrived, would Logitech Harmony 350 be able to record code from my existing remote?

Brianz2013, I didn't understand ho do you back up specific app when "cleaning", I'd prefer if I can create apk installation file from already installed app.
You make a backup and save to the SD card you can't he the apps data cause your not rooted
