i downloaded a southpark sound of eric cartman saying "you got mail" but i can only set it as a ring tone. i want it to notify me for my gmail. any ideas how to do this? thanks

If you go to the gmail settings and tap select ringtone it should come up asking if you want to use android sounds or music. Choose music and you should see every mp3 you have on the D2. Choose the one you want.

that didnt work either. i created a folder named notifications on the sd card and put the file in there. went back to gmail settings and it still didnt show up. thanks for trying

i went to the media folder---->audio---> all that was there was the notifications folder so i pasted in in there. it still does not show up. its in the mp3 format. is that the correct format or am i still doing something wrong

Go to Gmail app -> Click the "+ More" button -> Settings -> Select Ringtone

You can not change your Notification Ringtone without Rooting your phone and having a Custom ROM.
