So I downloaded this on my new S5 not realizing it was version 5.0 which I don't want to install yet anyway, where is the update stored so I can delete it ?
sorry, but that won't stop Verizon from pushing upgrades. No need for all this, I have just left the box unchecked so nothing gets installed but I just wish I could delete the file
IIRC, once on 4.4.4 there isn't a root method that works. For those on Verizon, Root the device, mount /system read/write (ES File Explorer) and delete 'sdm.apk' from /system/app and reboot. no more forced OTA.
I left off a bit of important stuff, this is for the Verizon S5 with the locked bootloader. From the reading I have done, we have to back up the OS so that Towelroot will perform the root.Seriously? There has been root for 4.4.4 forever. Even my late Galaxy S3 with a 4.4.4 rom could get root
I'd like to go back to 4.4 as well.
Lollipop does nothing better for me. There are several changes, which are a wash, but there hasn't been any improvements for me. There have been a bunch of noticeable steps backwards. mainly, it's slower, notifications are worse and battery life is worse.
I really wish I hadn't updated
