Root To update the OS or not to update the OS? That is the question.

Would you update Gingerbread 2.3.4 to a newer Android OS?

Hello all!

Well, my phone has been successfully rooted and bloatware uninstalled. I wasn't successful in partitioning my sd card but that's a whole 'nother thread for later.

I'm curious to see if anyone has updated their phone's OS using Android Magnet. I'm also interested in y'all's opinion as to whether updating the OS is a good move, worth it, whatever. In the articles and threads I've been reading, it seems to be about 50/50. I currently have Gingerbread (2.3.4) and I've read complaints about memory usage, which I've experienced. However, I have also seen complaints about the new OS losing some of its functionality, such as being able to move apps to the sd card. But, I'm guessing if I am successful in partitioning my sd card, then both of these problems would be non-issues anyways.

BTW, I have a rooted Kyocera Milano and I'm on PagePlus and, at least in my experience, they don't do OTA updates.

Thoughts, anyone? And thank you!
