Will there be a spring 2015?

Here it is the end of February and I haven't seen any indications from Mother Nature that spring is right around the corner. Normally by this time the Crocus and Snowdrops have pushed their way through the snow and are in bloom. If you look at trees in the distance they normally will have a redish hue caused by the buds getting ready to open.

Has anyone seen any signs of spring this year? I don't mean things like Lunatic59 checking his trout fishing waders for leaks. :D

No. There are no signs of it here at all. I think "they" cancelled it frankly. I expect to still have snowbanks in July.

I am a couple hours south of you. None of the snow appears to have melted here. I actually gave up clearing a path to the front porch/entrance. It seems as soon as I dug it out, two days later it was buried again.

I wonder how they will stock the local streams this year (Fishing season starts April 1).

Around here we don't truly start seeing Spring weather (as in constant mild temps, trees and flowers blooming, etc) until late April/Early May. Last year, it was the end of May before it got warm consistently, and things started growing. but one week later, BAM! 99 degree highs and heavy humidity.

It might technically be the 'first day of Spring' March 20th, but i still call it winter here until at least April.

My home is a travel trailer, which needs some repair but i bought a home on wheels for a reason. I hope to one day retire to a place where Snow is unheard of. i despise it and the cold. All i need is new tires, rewire the external lights, enough cash, and a truck.

Let's see, Massachusetts State Police had to rescue a stranded Coast Guard boat stuck in the ice yesterday.:(

There was an article in the Worcester Telegram last weekend talking about the fisheries and the challenge of stocking trout. There were three main issues. The fish are too small due to the cold weather, so they will need to stay in the hatcheries. That's good, because their currently is no access to the water to release the fish safely anyway. Also, they can't release them until they know that there is enough oxygen in the water and they can be sure they aren't releasing them between layers of ice.
