Moto E vs Prevail LTE

Moto E looks like the best deal on an inexpensive yet well made phone. Also, Lollypop. I am sure there will be an active dev community also.

My trusty 1 1/2 year old S3 is still better but it costs a lot more even today. The E looks like a good replacement in a pinch or a recommendation to a friend for a first smartphone (if any are left without one).

Good one, Boost! Now get us a few old flagship phones at better prices. I hear the S6 is coming. Drop the S5 price, expand the availability of the LG G2 and add the older Moto X.

My biggest problem with it is the 1GB memory, but that is par for the course. 2GB or maybe even 1.5GB is necessary for the apps I have gotten used to having around and I Uninstall the ones I don't use. Titanium Backup is great but it might be a while before the E gets rooted. I kind of hope to not have to root my next phone though I doubt I can stick to that conviction. Lol.

The non removable battery is not a good thing either. Might not work for my level of daily use. That is the trend and almost the norm unfortunately

Actually, 1gb of ram is enough to run even demanding games along with moderate multitasking. Don't let the price tag fool you, the new Moto E is a little beast of phone. It's going to surprise a lot of people.

is the samsung prevail LTE like a budget galaxy s4 clone?
I doubt it. My guess is that the Moto E is the better deal. It comes with Lollypop out of the box. The Prevail may never get it. The E should have an active development community in a short while.

The good thing is that is seems most of these new phones have the LTE bands for Sprint Spark (where available).

I had the original Prevail which was a great little phone for it's time. I think that the Prevail 2 and the Prevail LTE just use the name recognition of that popular Boost phone.

The only thing that makes this even close to a S5 budget clone is the looks when looking at a picture of it. The specs are lower than the S3. Speaking of, people said the same thing about the Prevail 2 being a budget S3 clone. Clearly it wasn't since that phone was horrible. Some people just want a Galaxy I guess. I had a friend that thought the Galaxy Exhibit 4G is as good as any other S series phone just because it has the word Galaxy in it. Samsung knows how to market crap that's for sure.

Edit: I wouldn't even consider the Prevail LTE when looking at the Motorola E. Motorola build quality is typically top notch and that's enough of a reason for me. Samsung doesn't have the best track record for their budget stuff. Then there is Rom development. The E will get much more development with it being on so many carriers.

I sound like a Samsung hater now lol. I love my S3! That better? :)

My only complaint about it is the screen resolution compared to the Moto G. I wish they would have went with 1280 x 720. My wife has had the Optimus F7 for over a year and hates it. I'm half tempted to get her the Moto E but I don't think she'd like the screen resolution. I should have got her one of those $89 S3's on Black Friday.

That's what makes it a low end s5 mini. Of course it has lower specs than the s5 its 400 dollars cheaper. As far as being less than the s3 again of course it does. The s3 was a flagship device. The prevail LTE is a 100 dollar phone. So it has 100 dollar specs. As far as being a cheap s5 clone that's what it is. It looks like a smaller s5 runs the same newer version of touchwiz like the s5 and so on. Its a speced down s5 for 100 bucks. The e is ok but I wouldn't say it is clearly better than the prevail they actually both are about the same. As far as development for the e maybe. The unlocked model will prolly have a decent amount but really who knows with the boost model. Look at the boost moto g. It doesn't have anywhere near the development as the unlocked models.
