OnePlus One Invite Info and Availability FAQ

Is there any difference in buying from Amazon vs Direct from One-plus?
Hey mate. Not that I know of.
I know I ended up getting a newer model (without the CM branding on the back but running cm).
I think buying from OP is slightly cheaper but not much :thumbsupdroid:

No I haven't yet. Hate the thought of buying something just to buy something, ya know? Don't have much of a choice now though. Thanks, I'll check em out today.

In most instances,I don't recommend getting the 1+1 from a 3rd party.
I was fortunate enough to buy one from a member in this forum & all is well.
It's not the 3rd party that is the problem,it's OnePlus.
Customer service isn't OnePlus' strong suit & you'll want to check their policy on warranty claims involving 3rd party transactions.
I didn't find anything on their site regarding it,until I had to submit an RMA for another 1+1 that I had purchased.
There was some language regarding the handset being linked to the original buyers account & the warranty was not transferrable.
Some of this may have changed since then, but,I think it's safe to say that when it comes to OnePlus:
Keep things as neat & simple as possible, save yourself some potential trouble & $,try again next Tuesday the very minute open sales begin.

All good now. Got an invite and placed my order. Yee haw!

The shipping for me was quite quick, from OP to me in Philly. All depends on your locations and where their warehouses are in your country. Less than 10 days after my order was placed. Second OPO came even quicker, less than 7 days total from order being placed. I say this is quick because these were ordered last July and early August. I assume processing and shipping time is even faster now. Congrats on the new purchase, I recommend rooting it right away because AFAIK, the rooting process involves a factory reset. Feel free to ask all the questions you want, you have some helpful, knowledgeable people on this board.

I haven't checked my account today, but how long after you order your phone do they send you invites to share? And how long do you have to share them before they expire? I assume from what I've read thus far that once you do share them from your account they expire in 24 hours, right?

The 24 hr expiration,once shared,is correct.
However, the quantity of invites received from OnePlus/expiration/& frequency-timing of such isn't set in stone.
I've received quantities of 1,2 & 3 invites to give out.
As for receiving invites,it's probably dictated by supply & demand of the phone.
