Interesting bootloop discovery

I preface the following by noting that I rooted the Event as per directions for the Kyocera Rise on this forum upon receipt. Also removed Connection Optimizer from the system.

Been suffering with the bootloop issue on my Event ever since purchasing it two months ago. At first, the phone would randomly reboot during calls or while running apps, but it would start back up to the unlock screen. As time progressed, it would get stuck in the bootloop upon startup for 20-30 minutes at a time if I allowed it and would only reach the unlock screen, it seemed, by blind chance. Recently, it seemed unable to make it out of the bootloop period, requiring removal of the battery to stop it. Going into the Recover screen and wiping the cache also had zero effect.

However, I recently discovered that the phone not only has no issue booting into Safe Mode, but once in Safe Mode, it never randomly reboots and the bootloop is no longer a concern. Of course, this means I can't run any apps not already part of the OS, but calls, messaging, e-mail and internet all work without hitch.

So the question is: what is booting with the system, outside of Safe Mode, that might be causing the reboots and bootloops, and is it something that would be safe to stop with Titanium Backup if I can somehow get the Event to boot to a normal state?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
