Purchased AT&T LG G3. Connected it to Straight Talk & configured everything correctly.
Contacted AT&T for the Unlock codes but never got the option to actually Unlock it when the new Straight Talk card was connected. Tried to type in the secret menu code. 2945#*851# and i get an error.
"USSD Code Running...." then. "Connection Problem or invalid MMI Code."

Was wondering about how i could get rid of all of this AT&T junk without having to Root the phone.
As every time I open SMS or contacts or anything AT&T popup for syncing to AT&T Backup. As much as i would love to root my phone i would lose all support from work. They use AirWatch & Entrust and neither one likes Rooted devices. :(

I assume unlocking the phone would give me the ability to remove the AT&T Annoying apps? or am i going at it all wrong?

Also, you should be able to disable most of your undesired apps. You can't delete/uninstall them without root but you should be able to disable them. Go to Settings, then Apps, slide/scroll over (left-right) to ALL. Click on the app (e.g. AT&T Backup) that you want to disable, and clear defaults, cache, data and then force stop and disable.

Disclaimer: if you disable the wrong apps (essential system apps), your phone may not function properly, do don't go overboard disabling apps. Some apps will first require you to back out an update before being able to disable it (no problem, it walks you through that). Any apps you disable will show up under "Disabled", should you run into a problem and need to re-enable something.

As for your secret menu code, 851 is the T-Mobile G3, you should be using 850 if you are on AT&T, that is 2945#*850#

As Kolio mentions, unlocking will not give you the ability to remove annoying apps. But disabling annoying apps is possible (yes they still take up room on your phone but disabling is the next best thing if rooting is out). Good luck and let us know how you make out.
