Help [Official] OTA update thread

I suspect you have Verizon to thank for that.
They treat a device that was not purchased from them differently.
See this article below - while it doesn't talk about OTAs, I would not be surprised if that's what's causing the delay

You could just flash the "E" build - but that'll require you to unlock your bootloader (data loss). As of now, I don't think the OTA file is available to take you from 5.0.1 to 5.1

So does that mean I will not get the 5.1 OTA pushed to me? Or I will and Verizon is just taking their time.

fi is super in my world.

i was already a sprint customer (since 1998) so im technically still on the network and thus far the transition was seamless. i missed wifi calling when i had the htc one max but now thats back. cool points.

free tethering with no need to root or other hocus focus is also a plus. t-mo is nice here in la and i now get LTE inside some building that i had was unable to prior (maybe t-mo?)

was using hangouts for months so that was a no brainer.

on the phone, i average less than a gig a month so this plan works for me perfectly.

Can anyone confirm my suspicion and perhaps shove me in the right direction? I unlocked my N6 to manually install the factory images for 5.1, does this mean (since it's still unlocked - but not rooted) that I will no longer get the OTA's?

If so, what's the process for re-locking it so that I can?

No, you can be unlocked and still get the OTA. I got the notification for 5.1.1 and i am unlocked and rooted with a custom recovery. Of course it wouldn't intall. But if you're completely stock and just unlocked, you're good

Well good deal. I had heard it as going out to ATT N6 owners and I hadn't seen it. Been a crazy 10 days for me so I figured with my luck I'd $crewed myself out of the rotation. :D

Thanks lunatic - one of these days I hope to loose the training wheels and not rely on you so much.
