Help CM9 crashed - can I save app data before re-installing?

So, last week the Touchpad suddenly threw up about 12 pop ups stating that random things failed to load. There were so many and I didn't really pay attention to what they were....I think one was like "calendar.init failed to load". Anyway, after OKing all of the popups, I was left with a frozen Touchpad. I powered down to reboot but it went into a permanent bootloop. I tried everything I could thing of....wiping cache and dalvik, expanding the partition size, deleting unnecessary files to free up space, even reinstalling the CM9 zip file. Nada. Obviously, I can still get into recovery and even WebOS, which allows me to view some of the SD partition.

Question 1 - Anything I am missing that might allow me to salvage this without a wipe and re-install???? My son is concerned about losing his progress in a few games and I'd like to recover and save the app data for those if possible.

Question 2 - I was running CM9 on a nightly build from like 2012. What do you guys suggest I install? I've already gone in and manually increased the partition size to 500MB if that matters.

Well, I learned that many of the games my son was playing were tied through Google Play Games, and had saved his progress online. With that knowledge, I wiped the Touchpad clean and used jcsullins Touchpad Toolbox to put CM 4.4 on the Touchpad and dump WebOS altogether. Works great, looks great. Tons of room left on the 32GB memory.

Glad this happened....otherwise I may never have bothered.
