Root [Virgin Mobile] cm12/cm12.1 questions

Well I finally made the jump to cm12 android version 5.0.2. I tried restoring my backup and almost everything crashed on first boot up and I lost all my Google apps. Is there a way to restore stock or do I need to Odin the NDC tar. I'm liking this ROM not sure if its the same cm12 you all have I got mine from a different developer.

I downgraded for nj3 back to ndc everyone says you can't downgrade I was reading in s5 fourms to many ppl were having problems with lollipop and downgraded back with fully stock kit kat tar it worked also coming from lollipop roms you have to wipe your internal sd as well and going to lollipop same thing wipe internal sd

You can use cm12 roms for sprint sprint you may need the apn fix listed in the fourms also there is a asop mms fix to make the stock cm12 app work or you can use hangouts make sure you backup also wipe internal sd when using lollipop and also same for going back to tw roms wipe internal sd our you will get fcs

If you use your camera don't go to lollipop doesn't work on them better off using cm11 everything works

Only camera I've got work is open camera on cm12 Google camera says can't connect to camera. I read they should have a camera fix for their next build not sure when that will be. In the video on the cm12 page they have everything working for the other galaxy s3 hopefully they can get this phone 100% working

Have you tried the xda fourms for the sprint s3 development fourms there is still development there lots of different types of roms there

I haven't yet but I'll go look now. Damn just noticed this ROM is zedomaxs I wonder if he could modify his apps2sd script to run on this phone. Or build it into cm12.

This phone has native apps to SD. And you have to wipe/format internal SD (data/media) when going from lollipop back to KitKat. Aosp or tw doesn't matter. Its the way lollipop encrypts the internal SD, gotta wipe it to go back to KitKat. That's why everything was crashing.
Also there is an unofficial cm12.1 now (5.1) over on XDA.

Awesome 5.1. The apps 2 SD script sets you're downloaded apps to external SD card by default and has a sweet hack in it. Only reason I want it. Going to try out 5.1 now

Found the built in apps2sd in settings/apps/menu change install location. can save to SD card by default kewlz

I noticed this 5.0.2 ROM has wicked battery life much better than stock. Does xposed work on lollipop now.

It does! There is a thread for it. Its in alpha. Only installable through a zip. And a different xposed app just for lollipop.

Does not work on cm12.1 (android 5.1) there is another one for that, different thread. Same Dev though.

Apparently they both boot fine. Cm is pushing changes for camera, but not fixed yet.

I got the stock camera to work it didn't work with the default theme. After I installed this theme my camera now works both front and back. Wonder if the default theme has to do with the camera not working.

Edit. I switched themes and now my front camera only works. I wonder what the heck is going on with it. Works when it wants to I guess.

The only buids I've tried are the ones by lrs121 and cannot get any camera to work. Both stock and Open Camera crash. Have tried DKP kernel too.

Yep apparently there's a bug effecting sprint users. Once a few Devs get together I'm sure the bug will be squashed and the camera will work. Sprint users are the only ones effected by this camera bug as far as I know. Something is keeping the camera from turning on.

Just tried it, very nice. Some google play issues at first. Let it sit for a few minutes then restarted it, all good. Still no camera working.

It says network operator is sprint instead of virgin mobile. Will that cause top up problems.
