Right, I've finally made the leap of faith from Apple to Android and after having an iphone for the past 9years I've recently upgraded to the Samsung S6 edge.

So here's my really obvious and easy question for you experts.....

Why is it when hand/arm/elbow whatever goes over my phone (not touching) it lights up asking to unlock? I cant find the setting to turn this off and its doing my head in. Especially when I have it next to my keyboard at work... I keep thinking i'm really popular and getting loads of notifications!

Nope smart alert is for when you want to turn your phone on silent I believe.

The whole function of this is so that when your phone automatically locks after your set time (30secs mine is) but your still using the phone you can quickly wave your hand over the phone and it wakes back up without the need to enter a pass code or finger print etc... Sounds good.. but the phone keeps lighting up. Constantly distracting my eye... It now got to the point where I put my phone on other side of my work desk.

I need help!? Its got to be an obvious setting!?

Its probably ambient display. Its a lollipop feature. Should be in display settings

That is what I thought it would be, but I can not find ambient display settings.

I have the Note 4 and i have the same feature , go into settings and then controls , then Motion and Gestures and then Palm swipe to capture and you can turn it off from there .

This is just for getting a screen shot. Does not do anything when the phone is off.
