[Official] Nexus 6 Accessory Thread

I had the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case for a while, but the flush buttons were a little hard to find without fumbling for them, so I just picked up a Spigen slim clear case. While I don't think it provides as much protection, I'm kinda liking it ... for now.

Just got this case today...along with my Yootech Tempered Glass Screen Protector...

I typically have no interest in phone cases and have not used one for a decade or more. However, after nearly dropping my Nexus 6 twice in the past week, and noting that it appears to be much more fragile and more slippery than my old Droid Bionic, I decided that a case was necessary. After spending way too long evaluating my options, I finally bought this case yesterday on Amazon for $13.99:

Nexus 6 Case, SUPCASE Google Nexus 6 Case [Unicorn Beetle Series] Premium Hybrid Bumper Case Cover for Motorola Nexus 6 (Frost Clear/Black)

It arrived today (less than 24 hours after my order, pretty impressive). It meets all of my needs:

  • The phone still looks great with the cover on and it is not bulky.
  • The phone still charges just fine on my Qi pad.
  • The clear but frosted back shows the phone's beauty, but without the fingerprints. I expect that it will also be reasonably scratch resistant.
  • Unlike the Spigen cases, the Supcase buttons are raised, easy to find without looking, and work well, albeit a bit stiffer than without the case (probably a good thing).
  • The grip is outstanding and I am now much less likely to drop the phone.
  • The perimeter bumper is attractive, completely covering the ugly metallic blue that the phone came with, and providing extra grip pads on the back right where they are needed ... at the middle of the long sides.
  • The bumper should provide at least some protection for the edges of the phone if it is dropped, and the lip on the front face allows the phone to be placed face down on a flat surface without resting on the two speakers.
  • Finally, the quality of the case is excellent. All of the openings are in the right place and amply sized. Ditto for the Motto dimple.
I am delighted with this product and would recommend it to anyone with a Nexus 6.

Any latest thoughts on cases. I'm torn at the moment between the Ringke Fusion or Max which seem to be preferred case of choice on XDA, but then most on here appear to be the Spigen

Both are nice cases and show off the N6 in all it's Nexosity. ;) The reason I went with the Spigen case instead of the Ringke Fusion is because of the buttons. The Ringke has inserts which make the buttons flush or protrude a little from the edge. The Spigen slim case has cutouts so the buttons are recessed. I use an iOttie car dock which has grips right over the buttons. Without a case or one with protruding buttons, the grips would hold the volume keys down when the phone was in the dock. Not so with the Spigen.

Just gone for this one as well. Ummed and arred about the about Ringke ones but like the idea of the frosted back on this one which hopefully won't be a slippery as the clear back

I went with the heavy duty Supcase that came with the holster case, which I won't use. I usually used UAG cases but I didn't like the looks of the one for the 6. This case is sturdy. The screen protector hasn't affected sensitivity in any way. I also kept the stock screen protector on in addition to the one that comes with the case. I'd recommend this for anyone who is looking for a heavy duty case.

I now recommend the Mountek nGroove CD car mount. It arrived today and works perfectly right out of the box. Unlike the Ipow, this one has rubberized metal paddles that fit all of my vehicles and lock in securely. Also unlike the Ipow, the Mountek allows my Nexus 6 to be secured with just one hand.
Thank you for this. I'm off to the Isle of Skye soon on a bit of a road trip so got this on your recommendation. Got it today, had a good play and I love it! Now I need a recommendation for a car battery charger as all the ones I've bought in the past have failed after a very short time.

Just got this backless bumper:

Naturally,it doesn't offer maximum protection, but, the edges are definitely covered.
The back is raised just enough to keep "rocking" to a minimum when laid on its back, perfect design for stabilizing on a wireless charger. The camera lens is also clear when on its back,no worries there.

Barely enough edge on the front, but,on a clean/flat surface, raised just enough to prevent contact when laid face-down.
Glad to see this case available for the NEXUS 6.

If I get this phone,no case for me,this phone is big enough as-is.
Already kicked the screen protector habit about a year or two ago.

Plus,from all appearances,it's a looker,it'd be a shame to slap a case on it.
They make ultra clear cases that don't hide the phone and add very little bulk. I choose to protect my investment, as I work too hard for my money to have it scratched or dented. Plus I will get max resale value when I choose to sell it. I'm very OCD about my phones, and couldn't sleep at night knowing it had even the slightest scratch on it.

Has anyone seen a case with a credit card/driver's license slot yet? Not the folio or wallet things, but just a regular case + slider. I've had one of these for my last 3 phones and I'm used to leaving the wallet at home by now..

I would be very interested in one of those too.

On a side note, I really dislike the case I bought. I have actually gone through two. I can't remember why I didn't like the first one for sure, but I very much dislike the buttons on the one I have now. They don't stick out any, and it's hard to find them without inspecting the phone. I want to be able to recognize them by feel. I have bought the SUPCASE mentioned above now where the person says they stick out. Hopefully will be good to go now. :)

I picked up an Incipio DualPro at work when I got the phone yesterday. I'm actually really happy with it and don't really have a reason to replace it unless I can get something similar with the aforementioned credit card slot. It's fairly light, not really that bulky, and seems like it's got decent protection. OtterBox usually ends up with a case + credit card slot, but if it's not out yet (which it isn't), it probably won't be.

Link to the Incipio case for reference, though you can get them cheaper elsewhere.

Finally got my new case a red and black I-Blason with a quick stand. It adds thickness and weight to the phone, but I have kids so I wanted something sturdy. I also wanted a case with a kickstand because when we are out we play videos for them to watch. I like its one piece, my casemate was two pieces and recently started coming off my phone

Yeah, those bumpers are all over ebay real cheap. I thought about it, but I like solid protection on the back. They look decent though.
Just thought I'd add that I bought the Anker car charger and it's the best I've ever had. Charges very quickly and although I was navigating and playing podcasts while charging the N6 didn't get hot at all. Very pleased.
Anker makes awesome stuff. They have the highest rated chargers on Amazon. I bought the Anker wall charger with Smart IQ and it's the best, quickest charger I've ever used. (besides getting an actual quick charger which I refuse to use) I only use Anker USB cables also. Very high quality.

Hello everyone. My first time on these forums. I'm trying to find some help on something.

I currently have a note3 with an otterbox and I use a magnetic mount in the car mostly for gps. It works great but I want to get a nexus6. I'm sick and tired of all the bloatware not to mention touchwiz.

I really like that the Nexus 6 has wireless charging and I want ro take advantage of that. I would like to get an airdock, looks like it works great from what I've seen but if that doesn't work a magnetic mount that allows wireless car charging would work too.

On it's own that works I can get it and make it work except I can't find the right phone case. I love otterbox because of how it makes the phone bulky. I honestly hate slim phones because they are hard for me to hold with big hands. I also MUST have a belt clip.

Trouble is I haven't been able to find any phone case with a belt clip that will work with airdock or a similar wireless charging mount.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/cr/B00SC4JZLQ/s=sd/ref=mw_dp_cr
This is the best I can find but I don't know if it will work with the airdock though it may and it doesn't look like it has a screen protector of any type.

Any help would be appreciated
