Fierce update L2RUMR0

Yes, I do have insurance. Bought it at best buy. But I do prefer to fix this one. What else can I do?

I had the same issue, pretty sure from not u rooting before the update. I tried everything, the priblem with my phone was that no apps installed so there was no launcher or browser or play store to install anything. I ended up taking it to T-Mobile and the useless girls took the back off put it back on and told me to return it. Long story short your prob gonna have to return it.

Also this goes without say but if your are rooted keep it to yourself if they ask any questions ;)

Hmm... True! I did not unroot before the update. Now, who should I go to first, T-Mobile or Best Buy?

Just got my update for the metro version. I passed lol. My phone is running just fine without it. Not worth messing up my phone or even risking it for nohting other than more crap on my phone.

I got the update like a week ago, I downloaded it then canceled the install process and my phones is great. Unless they come up with an update like 4.3 or 4.4 which I doubt it I won't be installing no silly update to mess my phone up. If it's not broken why fix it. ;)

So new version for our phone what is the version number? I Got the upgraded message but I didn't do it I unroot it then went back checking for update but it say there no update. Current version m27UP73???

My phone (metro) ran out of battery then on start up it ran the update (I think). I'm now on:
4.2.2 (no change)
3.4.5 (no change)
M2BUPB0 (from M27UP73)

Changes I noticed, on my phone if you hit the setting button (furthest right/bottom) I would go right to the task killer, now I go to settings. The camera is working much better in low light (no idea why), I even went back to the stock camera. and the battery life improved a little bit. No idea if this was just perceived or real changes.

If you like your Fierce the way it is,
might I suggest an app called FotaKill. This halts ota updates.
Since Metro is not supporting this device any more.
The other carriers that used the locked bootloaders and mediatek secure lock probably are getting tired of warranty jobs. So by blocking rooting access They're leaving you stuck with a broken phone you broke.

This Phone is NOT a candidate for Development by end users!

I wish i had read this before i updated my phone. I have the metro pcs fierce 2. I did system update last night and the phone has been frozen on the Alcatel screen since last night. I the screen jus went black

Was your phone rooted? If so did you remove system apps? I'm sure you've bought a new phone by now or had yours replaced, but when this happens if its within in the period for a return simply return it even if its rooted and just tell them the update messed up and that's the outcome. If they ask how it messed up just say it stopped near the end and after a few hours you manually restarted the phone and that's what you got. They may reflash the OS if you got it from a carrier store, but that's doubtful. They'll more than likely give you a refund or new phone. - that worked for me and my first Alcatel fierce anyway.
