Is it normal for the turbo to overheat, using Google maps for 2 hours? If so, what is a safe temp? I took a trip and the regular GPS couldn't figure a short cut around an accident, Google maps did. So, decided to use Google maps rest of the trip. Next thing I know, getting notification phone overheating, checked, 108.4!!!! This is a first with a phone overheating with Google maps. No other apps were running. Normal? Solutions?

I was driving while navigating with Google maps just today, also while listening to music over bt, also for 2 hours, with a Droid Maxx. The phone was 122 degrees, no overheating warning, the phone is fine.

I'm not sure what the temperature limit is but I think it's around 140 degrees.

I wouldn't want to do this all of the time, but, anyway, what you saw I also saw today. My phone is still fine.

The Droid Turbo according to Motorola specs isn't supposed to be used in temperatures higher than 140, but it doesn't specify how hot the device itself can get. But, I think if the ambient temp can be 139, the battery should be ok below that, too.

From the turbo user manual, page 62:

I just ordered a Vent holder, that way can turn AC on, if needed and hopefully will keep it cool. Would never sit anything on windshield or dash, gets way to hot there :)

I use a Kenu Airframe attached to a vent which gets a constant, small airflow that keeps my phones cool. Previously when using a windshield mount I would set the fan to the windshield defrost mode to keep some cool air moving around the phone, but the Airframe is so much better, sometimes the phone is cold to the touch after driving a long time.

Yep, that is the one I am getting :)
