Free texting app using same number?

Hey guys, I'm looking for an app that lets me text for free with my same phone number. i have prepaid number so i cant text for free, so an app that uses my phone's number and lets me text for free would be perfect! Does anyone know any app like that? I have used textplus, but it gives me its own number,then i have 2 numbers, so thats a nono for me.

Oh and btw texting on wifi! Not using mobile data.

Not sure of Hangouts allowing you to text free. Of course it can use WiFi, but you message the other person's Google profile, not their number. It just works similar because well, your number is linked to your G+ so the other person sees it's you. Of course any app that let's you text for free would need the other person to have the same app as well.

Hangouts will let you text to anyone SMS using your phone's number. I think it does it over data and shouldn't count against your SMS and should be doable over Wifi. I am not sure through since I use it with a Google Voice number. I shall leave it to you to test it out. Otherwise no I don't of a system that will do what you want without getting a second number. If it was me and I needed this I port my current number to Google Voice and get a ne number from the carrier that I wouldn't tell any7one about (unless there was some reason for them to know it)
