Root [TOOL] LG Laf Recovery MultiTool v1.2

I am curious though... Why did it accept BiggiePhil's laf.img but not mine? It was the same file, same amount of mb, Do these img. files become defected after using them over and over again?
It will always have the same size, as you're essentially backing up a partition The question is what was inside. You may have backed up your wiped out laf.img

Wow i never thought about that... Really good to know and that is probably what happened. Thanks for the info and all the progress recently you and other devs have made.
No worries. Back before we had ROMs for the L70 I did the same mistake and sammyZ/BiggiePhil (IDK, we were all on an IRC) had to send me theirs. LOL. :)

First off, thanks to these guys for everything we have thus far:
Android Addict, junkie2100, Cheetopocalypse, biggiephil, bobdamnit, LoneStar, and PlayfulGod

This tool is to help you guys with unlocking in the easiest way possible. Take note that drivers are not included and you may need to install adb drivers and fastboot drivers.

Recovery is not included. You can download AA's recovery.img from the links below.

0077a4f09e.png

The tool is pretty self explanatory. Need I say further?

Download the downloads.
Extract everything in the zip files.
Install drivers.
Open Run.bat and select an option.

Of course though if drivers are broken or USB debugging is not enabled, this will not work, so make sure drivers are all installed and working properly.

Changelog
  • Renamed to LG Laf Recovery Multitool (will work on L90 and LG Volt)
  • Removed laf.img and recovery.img from zip (download recovery yourself and place in same place as extracted run.bat)
  • Added options to backup and restore specified partition
  • Added automated bootloader unlock
  • Added option to flash recovery to laf partition (allows one to boot to recovery using download mode)

Now the phone can boot normally but take about one minute to fully boot on.then i use "LG Laf Recovery Multitool v1.2" to to restore my back up of my laf.img(in phone)and to restore download mode, then noticing that my my mobile data signal bar had an red x indicating of my service is disabled.my SIM card was still in the phone.I didn't went in the phone and do anything.then on the LG recovery multitool, i use the option to boot into recovery knowing i have CWM flash in the phone, then i choose the option to "wipe data/factory reset"and"wipe cache partition",hopping that will fix the problem of service being disabled.when finishing setting up the phone i still notice that the service is still disable with no bars but a red x next to it.When googling my problem, the perhaps the only way to fix this problem is to using something called Octoplus box which require a card or a box??In other information i notice in my status in option "phone #","IMEI","IMEI SV",and "ICCID" had the word null. how should i fix the problem without this octoplus.

Help please I got this error
16gc3g4.jpg

Any solution for this, will help a lot of me. Thank you in advance.

Oooo its been a few months since I had this problem but my screen would turn green or blue.
I believe its cause by a bad laf or something with having a partition from the wrong device, I dunno for sure lol
You need to factory reset, or flash original firmware or zero out your laf.

Look for the lg flash tool 2014 to do firmware, but only if you cannot fix it with anything else.

Ahem<clearthroat>

Make sure you have an laf.img for your device. Very important its for d325 if you have a d325? Lol

If you can boot without error download either ROM tool box which has a terminal or terminal emulator for android.
You'll see a $ on the left side of screen im not sure but just In case you've never seen this before
Type,
su

This enables superuser<turns the $ into #>

Now type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf

Now power off, and try to boot into fastboot.
If error still occurs, make sure laf.img is in root of your internal sdcard and try to restore it in terminal with,
dd if=/sdcard/laf.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf
And now, try to get into download mode.

Fingers crossed this helps you man. I hated this error.
--Sorry for the mouth-full lol--

Hiya,

Very similar problem, but with less dramatic screen messages....

I am rooted, no doubt. But I have suspected my bootloader is not unlocked, is that possible?

Anyway, every time I try to Boot into anything or flash anything, I get this:

--------------------------------------------
Secure booting Error!
Cause: boot certification verify
--------------------------------------------

as seen here:
GqzBsoA.png

(pardon my flash)

It's stuck on that logo splash screen, actually have to remove the back and battery ... but then it boots up fine.

I've been customizing the old-fashioned way, and I finally got the phone where I like it.

So all I really wanna do is flash Freedom kernel ....

I appreciate any help!!!

NOTE: Though quite similar, the L70 and F6 are not quite the same phone of course.

Thanks!

I am obviously not using this tool correctly. I really honestlY could not findinstructions on how to use it correctly. When trying to boot into recovery I continue to receive secure boot error. I am rooted but cannot get recovery flashed. I have rooted many phones but never have had such a problem getting recovery flashed on a phone. Can someone help me? Thank you.

EDIT: Nevermind. Was trying to install TWRP through fastboot by replacing the recovery.img file, but couldn't because it automatically passes through fastboot into CWM. Installed TWRP too, but can access it now by entering factory reset mode as it kicks to TWRP instead of doing a reset. Just wanted to be able to access it while powering device on and now I not only can, but have my choice of CWM or TWRP while turning device on, which is fine. All is good. Thank you!

I'm really stumped here... I can't get the stupid fastboot to work...I've been trying over and over for hours... I have all the drivers installed, I made sure to follow the laf steps from the original unlock post and made sure debugging was on and set the phone to charge only mode and made sure i had the latest LG drivers along with fastboot and adb installed but my phone doesn't seem to budge. when I type fastboot devices, the console doesnt treat it like anything, and moves to the next line. Then when I try fastboot oem unlock it hangs on waiting for devices...I'm really stuck... I just want to unlock the bootloader and be done with it

i have the same issue. when i :
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf

answer from adb:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf
dd: /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf: No space left on device
45057+0 records in
45056+0 records out
23068672 bytes transferred in 3.321 secs (6946302 bytes/sec)
1|root@w5ds:/ #

aboout 520mb free of 1.5gb (cyanogenmod 12.1 lg l70 d325).
i have to zero the laf partition to replace the cwm for twrp?
