Root CM12.1 UNOFFICIAL RC5

This may not be the best place for this, but I would appreciate some developers becoming involved in the forum on the Samsung Mega 2. A root for this device JUST became available, and as yet there is no custom ROM. I don't know why this discussion on a ZTE device came up, but it did. Thanks
i recommend you find some developers to reach out to. this forum currently only has one dev working on our phone and we aint giving him up >:). your post will never see the light of day here

I didn't mean to take your developer, I incorrectly assumed there was more than one developer, and was looking for any help I may get, even if its nothing but being pointed in the right direction.

haha i was half-joking. we are paying our dev well to stick around with praise and sometimes money. i could not find a solid forum for that device yet on XDA or AndroidForums, but i did find a new Google+ page that will probably be a stomping ground for rooted users in the near future since you said you just got root. https://plus.google.com/109346661561139837330/posts . i didnt see anything there yet but im sure its coming since it is a samsung phone. i would keep checking XDA and AF for updates. you may want to also check out some of the devs that worked/work on the samsung mega 1, as they may segway in to that device.

Root just became available for it. Samsung has certainly made this one a hard one to deal with. I'm looking at comparisons between the mega 2 and the s4, note 3, and both versions of the mega 1. I noticed there was no forum here for mega 2, so took that initiative (even though I'm the only one so far) XDA doesn't have one as you saw. Mega 2's I don't think are all that popular, that probably explains why almost a year after they were released, there still is nothing. I'm just not satisfied at all with Samsung's bloatware or lack of interest in updating the ROM on anything but their flagship devices. I'm also sick of being restricted to what AT&T thinks I want out of a device (so long as its most profitable to them), ya know, the usual reasons we root and install custom ROMs Thanks for the idea, I shall have to try to open dialogue with mega 1 devs.

oh if you have issues make sure you do a factory reset (and dont restore data from twrp)

it is possible a wipe is needed, but I am not too sure

I am having the same issue. My phone was the T-Mobile version with 4.4.2. Screen turns black on incoming call. You can't answer it have to reset the phone. I hope there is a fix or I'll have to uninstall it. Everything else works flawlessly.

thanks

OK so I think what we need to do for the people that had 442 is put out a zip that flashes the modem and bootloader from the Metro 444 ROM

that is what I did, and I am not having the issue

I started out with 442, and updated all the partitions to 444

I will make a new thread for this, I need to supply 2 zips one for 444 and one for 442 so people can revert back

Thanks. I hope that will fix the issue. No rush but I hope it is done soon. I don't really won't to revert to stock or go back to beta 2 it was too buggy. Where is the donation link.

I accessed the developers option and turned the root on to APPS and ADB. I made a call if the phone is away from your face the screen is off held my thumb hovering over the sensor and the screen came back on. The weather and clock widget the weather is not working and the screen is freezing. Further review on the calling after the call connects the screen will stay on
