Help Restore a modified LG G2 to Original ROM, and unbrick it from Hard Brick, Thanks @iowabowtech

Hi, @iowabowtech

My phone was recovery from the brick with your help, but when it boot into system, it is still in wrong rom (D802) as first day I have it.

So I am working on this: How to restore my phone to the proper stock rom?

Here is what's my plan:
1, find out what exactly model of my phone.
2, find a way to restore to stock rom of that phone
3, root & install twrp recovery

====

First thing is first, I have to confirm which exactly version it is.

regarding my discovering in these days: when opening cover, it shows: D801/D803 and motherboard shows D801.

These 2 version is similar, but still have some different on signal. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LG_G2)

I find a d801 disassembly pictures: http://i.imgur.com/CIVO5TZ.png, it's not very clearly, but still can find, there is D801 on the bottom board, which is not same as mine.

So I think if this is D801 modal, it will print D801 on the board, mine is print as D801/D803, I believe this is Canada Version LG G2 D803.

If this is true, ref wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LG_G2

as mine one is white version, so, I think more information can added as, my phone is

Canada Roger Mobile LG G2

I don't know if my guess is right, I believe you can review this and give me some idea? Thanks.

I don't know if the d803 has it's own dedicated motherboard but I'm guessing not. They may share the d801 motherboard and use a rom which is unique to the d803. Really couldn't tell you to be honest but if that were the case, I'd think you could flash partitions of either d801/d803 and be ok. I'm pretty sure I remember that for twrp, the d803 users flashed the d801 recovery.

So bottom line, I'm not really SURE if it makes a difference which partitions you flash. I'd think you would end up with a working phone in either case. :/

I'm also going out on a limb and guessing you are not:
a.) a TMO customer
b.) a Bell/Rogers Canada customer

So you might be best served to ideally find a kitkat tot/kdz if one exists for either variant, flash that, root using Stump Root, then get recovery via Autorec for kitkat using the D801 recovery when prompted.

@iowabowtech

Finally, I get recovery worked! It can go to TWRP recovery! I believe leave this phone switch for whole night is the hint.

I backed up current system, push CM11 (kitkat) Rom to phone. format current system/data/cache/Dalvik partitions, and flash the CM11, but met failed message as below:

error flash (cm11 name).zip
udateing partition detials.....

if this means previous system partition is different from the cm11? and how can I deal with this than?

I need help

Soft bricked my g2 d802 32gb.

Stock kitkat but rooted. SuperSU.
Can enter recovery and download mode.
Don't know if it has stock or custom recovery.

How can I unbrick it without losing my pictures.

Updated to lollipop via LG support tool and let everything complete.
Stuck on LG logo since.

if you can goes to download mode, i believe you can flash back to the previous version by ref: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

Use flash ROM KDZ method, and normal flash.

@iowabowtech

Finally, refer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476, I use TOT method, this phone has restored to the Canada Roger Mobile LG G2 version.

I think I will live with it for awhile, see if it works well.

Here is a D803 related topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611749
Root Lg G2 all version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448887
Download the root files: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232
Download TWRP for lg G2: https://twrp.me/devices/lgg2.html (you need download 2.6.3.4 or up version of twrp to flash kitkat or lollipop, but I still met partition failed.)
CM for D803 http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/cyanogenmod-12-0-d803-t3066121 (the CM12.1 in my phone has no signal issue, but CM12 is no problem)

Finally, I stay with CM12.

Thank you very much for your help, and I will change little bit for this topic, for someone else to ref to solve the similar problem.

Again, Thanks for your help!
