Best phone available now for use on Metropcs ?

Get the ZTE ZMax for $99
5.7" Screen
1.2 GHz Quad Core CPU
2GB RAM
16GB ROM (11.65 usable)
Provision for a 32GB SD Card although 64GB Cards are reported to work.
8MP Camera (Download "Open Camera" from the Play Store. Big improvement over stock cam.)
Records and playsback 1080P vids (Open cam lets you also set the Frame Rate on video recording.)
Gorilla Glass 3
3,400 mAh battery that lasts for days.
KK 4.4.4 (Minimal Bloatware)
Root capable
MP3 playback sounds great, especially with Dolby EQ enabled
4GLTE ( I got the $50 unlimited Data Promo plan.)

Yep, $99.00
You get a $49 Credit for your LG Motion, so after tax and activation, you'll spend about $65.00

I used to have the LG Motion, then got the LG Spirit and now I have the ZMax.
Once you go to a big screen like this, there's no going back.

Best bang for the buck phone by far.

Why better than the Galaxy 5 ?

Price.

My Brother has a Galaxy 5 and he paid about $600 for it.
The ZTE isn't as good of a phone, but it cost $99.
I fail to see how the Galaxy 5 is worth $500 more than the ZMax.
Theres a lot of better options IMO, LG G2 unlocked, Gen 2 Moto X, 1+1, Nexus 5 just to name a few. All significantly cheaper than an S5 and comparable specs. The ZTE is a good value and speced well for the price but we all know how ZTE is about updates & support. Incremental security patches (usually) at best...then they'll just release a hardware refresh running newer software. In the end it's just more cost effective for them I guess.

But if you're specifically talking about what's available in store then I'd go with the Zmax or the Stylo. I've never liked Samsung personally.

Do you think "open camera" can also improve the stylo's camera? The "13MP" on this looks lame. Very fresco-ish when you're taking pictures.

I just switched from VM to Metro on the 5th of this month, needing much more data a month than $55 could get me. Had/have an LG Volt (which is touchy but I still love it) and got an LG Leon for free after two $50 instant rebates. So for the price I am pleased with the MS345. It's new, not terribly powerful but runs Lollipop 5.0.2, 1.2 quad core with a decent 4.5" screen, 5mp camera and already has root/twrp recovery available. Even without the port-in from Virgin/Boost/Cricket $50 promotion it's still able to be had for under $100 through one of several still active (at last check) in-store/online deals and for under $100 it's a great deal. Would have gone with the G Stylo but didn't have $200 available this month - just remember it's a budget Lollipop so sometimes it lags and makes you angry enough to throw it Good luck with your search ✌

I'll have to say the ZTE ZMAX. Phablet, huge screen, 16gb internal, expandable to 32 (some claim to run 120 something and 64s) 2gb RAM, and only the best battery I've ever seen in an android. Its not expensive, there is root, and there are 3 ROMs already (ButterNoobv1, ButterNoobv2, and cm12.1)

Hands down the best phone for your $ if you ask me.

"Best Phone" is debatable.
Is the Sammy - 6 arguably the best phone that MPCS offers?
Yes.
Is it worth the price?
Not in my opinion.
I believe the ZMax is the best "bang-for-the buck" phone, so IMO, it's the best phone offered by MPCS at the moment.

We're already seeing MPCS giving away low-end phones away for free - I wonder how much longer until we see mid-range phones like the Zmax being givin away for free?

Yes it's a Snapdragon 210 64 bit @1.1ghz still better than a 32bit 200/400 1.2ghz.
Most cameras at this price point are vga for the front and 5mp for the rear. It has 2mp front and 8mp rear. Most of the same devices at this price point still have 480x800 or 540x960 displays from 220ppi to to 245ppi. This is 720x1280 @294 ppi which at the price point is a huge upgrade from the 510. While don't get me wrong I'm no HTC fan but from their current lineup this is one of the better phones for the money.
