Help How do you change default home screen?

So I tried this

swipe 2 of your fingers from the bottom of screen to the top to pull up all screens ... You will see all your screens. Above/In each one is an icon that looks like an arrow. It isn't. It's a house! press the house on the one you want as a home screen....this worked on my galaxy Tab 2 7.0 with android 4.1.1

This is a combination of 2 posts but with clearer instructions

I have 3 home screens but when I press the "Home" button, it always goes to the 3rd (last) home screen. Is there a way to specify which home screen I want to return to when pressing the "Home" button?

On my galaxy s4 I go to the menu and click edit so the pages all show. At the top of each page is a little "house" click that and it designates your home page.

I did what jaymm said by holding my finger on the screen until the we're light colored & on bottom is wallpaper / widgets /home screen setting. The arrow was at the top (it's actually a house) when you select it - that screen becomes the home screen. You can also drag the screens around to the order you wish.

Hi,
I found that by deleting all but one home screen, the default home screen gets reset to no1.
If you plan on doing that, be sure to take screen shots of your home screens as you'll have to set them up again.

What a ridiculous answer. Are you serious??? Man.

Just go to any home page, click the menu icon, click edit page, and click the home icon or where it says Home above or below the page you wish to be home.

Wow I can't believe that suggestions such as the above quote are allowed to persist on this site. Simply an embarrassment.

What's really embarrassing is digging into a post that is four years old giving advice on a phone and operating system that hasn't been really pertinent since then and critiquing it - along with the rest of the recent suggestions.

Every post has a date clearly marked.

And if you're asking, no we're not going to go back, read what the millions of people who have been here have said since the beginning of Android and filter out what doesn't apply to a modern phone or a different model.

Read the old stuff, enjoy how far things have improved - and then give it a rest.
